I liked that one too and A History of Violence. Viggo is definitely a badass!

If A History of Violence is a movie, then it's the only "movie" ever made.

Everything else has to go by some other name.

My favorites have to be Good Fellas, Blow, The Sopranos <wish they would make a movie>, Pulp Fiction, Requiem for a Dream, man on fire, The Warriors, and interview with a vampire and queen of the damned, Not to mention Anne rices whole series is a good read.

Best film I've seen recently is probably Pride and Glory.

Favourite films that I can remember at the moment are Chan Wook Park's Joint Security Area and like somebody said American Beauty.

Two from Asia - a Japanese film called "After Life," and from Hong Kong Wong Kar-Wai's "In the Mood for Love".

I just watched Das Boot again the other night; I forgot how long that movie is!

I love any submarine movie, I don't think I've ever seen a bad one. 8)

you submarine-o-phile types are the only people who don't get a glazed zombie look of sheer and utter boredom when I explain my job when I was in the service. I used to track submarines from secret little spots. The only problem is, on the rare occasion i find someone who digs that stuff, the glazed zombie look of sheer and utter boredom forms on my own face...

Cool! Did you track them from ships, or subs, or planes? How did it work? Did you track them from underwater ocean lairs like something Doctor Evil or the U.S.S.R. would have?

I guess you couldn't tell me if they were underwater ocean lairs. Okay, just blink once for yes, or two for no. I can keep a secret.

Why does it bore you to talk about that work with people who are interested?

Just watched Grapes of Wrath (1940). What a great movie. The political/social topics are still relevant today, especially in this economy.
