    Chainsnuser,

I use Copenhagen aswell when I need a change up from snus, and I do use it in the upper lip. I don't think that you can bake Copenhagen like you do with snus. It just dosen't seem to work. Most people in the states, just squeeze a pinch between their thumb and forefinger, not too hard mind you, and stuff it in. I guess you could call it the hillbilly method. I use Copenhagen Longcut myself which pinches a little easier than Copenhagen snuff.

Also, two hours seems a bit long in my experience to keep a "pris". No more than a hour if you ask me.

I really enjoy Copenhagen, problem is, as soon as I take out a spent "pris", I immediately want another one. I think the addicitivness has to do how fast you get the nicotine. The nicotine delivery in snus seems a bit slower than Copenhagen. This may have to do with the PH of Copenhagen compared to Snus.

I tried it for the first time last week because I'd been curious about it for a long time. Regular Copenhagen. I really liked the flavor, but that's it. I didn't like how it felt like I had wet sawdust in my mouth. I spit it out almost immediately and tossed the can.

Ok, I seem to be in the minority here, but I think Cope tastes like fresh manure!

When I want a dip, I grab either a can of Redman Straight, Redman WG, Grizzly WG, Skoal Mint or, if you want a real eye opener, Skoal Edge! The Edge I swear has caffeine or crack or something in it, because when I put in a pinch, it hypes me up big time. It has twice as much wintergreen flavor as regular Skoal, though, so it burns like...I don't know, it burns like hell. Very satisfying, though, although a little hard to find sometimes.

I'm using my third prilla (yeah, I guess I will be forced to use the bottom-lip when I get to last dry crumbs of the can, but at the moment it works to use the upper-lip).

You can be sure, that my prillas don't look better than your pinches. The prillas seem to fall apart just from looking at them, but with a little finger-and-tongue-work (I use the same kind of "hillbilly-method" indeed, that's sometimes needed for snus), they make it to the upper lip.

More like rotten manure, I guess. I'd much more call it a leather-taste, though. It's certainly not for everyone, but I like it - and unlike some snus-brands the taste seems to last forever.

I think it's very much like Offroad Cranberry - the cut is even a little finer IMHO. I was lucky to receive a quite fresh can though, made on September 29.

Overall, I'll use the can from now on just like I would be using a can of Ettan or Skruf Stark, besides the bottom-lip-method that I will have to try. Sometimes the first impression isn't right and the second or third prilla doesn't taste as good as the first one, but Cope Snuff is just excellent stuff - I like it.

            Cheers!

Today I decided to take a break from Cope Snuff. Yesterday evening the stuff gave me a bad feeling in the throat, afterwards. Not frightening, but also not very easy.

So, I guess the only option (for me) is to use the stuff the traditional way from now on, meaning to use the bottom lip and to spit.

              Will post my experiences!

              Cheers!

Yeah so, I posted this in another thread.

This morning I mixed copenhagen and skruf stark. I mushed them together and baked two fat prillas. I was BAKED.

toekuttr is right about the destructive nature of chew. My bottom lip is smooth in the middle too.

I just love the flavor of copenhagen. Especially after adding a bit of bourbon to the can.

Unlike snus which has a best by date copenhagen has a born on date. It really matters. I know guys around here who turn down a can that is more than a week old. Some guys even discuss where they buy their cans so that they can all shop at the same place to increase volume and bring in fresh cope more often.

I do that too. Its very important about the born on date. I will not EVER nuy cope pouches that are more than a week old.

With the cut varieties ill not buy it if its more than 2 weeks old,.

As a former "Skoal Brother", I became a fan of their method; they have a "Guaranteed Fresh Until" date on the can. If you opened it and it was funky, you just took it to the store, showed them, and they'd trade it up for you. No questions asked...Of course, I think I only ever got one or two bad cans ever, but that just speaks to how good Skoal's quality is.

And you guys said a 1/4 can was too much.

                      LMFAO.

This guy looks like he put some in his armpits too.

                        Seriously.

Don't look at that if you are about to go to sleep.

Yes, Cope Snuff is meant for the bottom-lip, for spitting and to spit it out after around 30 minutes. This way the flavor is even better, the nicotine kicks more and there's absolutely no throat-irritation.

I think there is no need for a long comment. The stuff itself is just first class and the bottom-lip method feels absolutely natural even for a beginner, like me.

BTW, the taste is not overly far away from fire-cured (and possibly fermented) European chewing tobacco, which (unlike snus) is free for sale in the EU, but not very popular. Cope seems to be free of additional flavors (which I find very enjoyable).

                            Cheers!
