I have many friends that have run the gauntlet of weight reduction medical procedures. Be forwarned: They all suck!Originally posted by Ansel View PostI have iatrogenic obesity - anyone here had liposuction?
Liposuction sounds like an easy solution... be aware that it will knock you off your feet for about a week. The other procedures such as gastric bypass and lapband are much more intense than lipo and they have problems too.
The bottom line to weight loss is simple: LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION.
IMO, Here's the best solution: http://perfecthealthdiet.com/
Good luck!If you have any problems with my posts or signature

My sister-in-law has thyroid issues which have caused weight problems. She did the lapband thing but it had little effect and ended up causing problems and had to be removed.
Have you thought of a low carb kenetic diet.
I would look into something like that before I committed to surgery.
Also, I have a buddy of mine that works as a nutrition/weight loss coach. The program involves a balanced holistic approach and seems to work very well. That said I there is a cost for meals. It is not a scam or gimmick, the meals are a part of the effort to set healthy nutrition. Anyway, if you are interested I will be glad to PM you his contact infoWhen it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Switch meds? theirs probably one out their that doesnt make you put on weight, If its an AP, then geoden, abilify might be better, If its a SRRI then prozac is meant to be pretty slimming, each person is different though.

Looked it up: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/ It seems reasonable if one has some self control, most overweight people don't, imho.(present company excepted)Originally posted by Skell18 View PostI have done the 5-2 diet with good results, but if it's the meds then there isn't much you can do other than modify your diet I would have thought. If you get lipo thn you will need to keep having it when the weight goes back on.

I'm not over weight, I just noticed my trousers were feeling tight ;-) It's actually not that hard, the first week is hard but the easiest thing to do is drink lots of water. Once you're into a rhythm its actually easy on the fast days, I also don't eat as much on non fast days either.Originally posted by Burnsey View PostLooked it up: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/ It seems reasonable if one has some self control, most overweight people don't, imho.(present company excepted)

I agree on changing the lifestyle. Till my early 20s i was in sports quite a lot, always in the nature - working from sunrise to sunset - on fathers and local farms with horses and stuff. I was tough, dirty and sweaty all day every day.
Than it all went downhill - beer, watching TV, computers, smoking...
And i gain weight that's for sure. The morale was also 3 feet under...
Than i slowly started hiking local (little) hills. Not much - one hour tree times per week. Two years later started hiking higher hills, tough terrains and extreme conditions. Than i abandoned my hiking thing started something else - that keeps me walking at least and loosing weight...
My advise is to find a hobby or a sport whatever it is. Some company is very importrant while you are practicing it! Doing it alone it will be very tough.
Anyway it takes months even years to loose weight...
BUT my biggest change was my work. Now i have to lift this and that, walk from here to there. It's not perfect but i am satisfied and loosing weight...
Be patient and go for a hike!Last edited by Detonator; 25-02-15, 07:10 PM.

My friend had her liposuction in Thailand and as per her experienced it was very successful. She is thankful at PlacidWay, the one organized her treatment.
