I'm fighting prejudice, says transgender man who's four months PREGNANT

It is now almost impossible for Mrs Edgeworth to look at the pictures of Paige as a little girl without feeling tearful.
Paige will soon be 21. But she has changed her name by deed poll to Hayden Cross and has been living legally as a man for the past three years after starting gender reassignment on the NHS, a process which has left Hayden with a deeper voice and facial hair.
It has also bitterly divided his family and left him estranged from those who love him.
Mrs Edgeworth told the Mail poignantly: ‘She’s asked me to call her Hayden, and I say: “I can’t, love.” In my eyes she will always be Paige. She was born a girl. She wasn’t born a boy.’
As desperately sad as this is, it’s not the reason why Hayden’s case is in the news this week, or why a TV documentary team is making a film about him. After all, around 3,000 patients undergo gender reassignment every year.
Hayden Cross’s story is different, quite possibly unique in Britain.
He is believed to be the first transgender man in the country to publicly announce — on the front page of a red-top tabloid, no less — that he is pregnant after injecting himself with sperm from a donor he found on Facebook.
Hayden had originally hoped to freeze his eggs to be able to have children later.
But the NHS declined to pay for it and he could not afford the cost of having it done privately. So the former Asda worker, who lives on benefits in a council bedsit, suspended his hormone treatment and sought an anonymous ‘father’ online.

Beloved pet ‘Scarface’ freaks out, mauls family when they tried to put a holiday sweater on him

A Florida pitbull freaked out on its family, hospitalizing two of them, when they attempted to put a Christmas sweater on him.

The dog, named Scarface, attacked its owner Brenda Guerrero when she went to put the garment on him and then bit her husband, Ismael Guerrero when he struggled to wrestle the angry dog off of his wife, WFTS reported.

The Guerrero’s adult son Antoine Harris was next to attempt a rescue by stabbing Scarface in the head with a knife, but he too was attacked.

All three family members ran into the home and left the dog in the backyard while they called police for help.

Former Pa. commissioner charged with indecent assault for groping 103-year-old woman in nursing home

A former Pennsylvania commissioner was arrested and charged with three counts of indecent assault on a person with a mental disability after police said he groped a 103-year-old woman with dementia.
Bill Spingler, a 75-year-old Chester County resident who previously served as a commissioner in Radnor Township and Delaware County, is accused of touching the victim's breasts during three visits this month, according to court documents.

Fake Adult Entertainment Agency Sued for Deceptive Business Practices

The Washington State Attorney General's Office last week filed a most unusual consumer protection lawsuit — charging a Seattle man with running a scheme for nearly a decade where he set up a fake talent agency for adult entertainers in order to trick women into posing nude and having sex with him.

Michael-Jon Matthew Hickey is accused of creating a fictitious business and using deceptive ads with bogus employment offers to find his victims. The lawsuit alleges Hickey offered and advertised commercial services solely for his "own personal gain" and to "satisfy his sexual desires" with no intention of following through on the promised services to help these women find jobs....

EPA To Alaskans In Sub-Zero Temps: Stop Burning Wood To Keep Warm

In Jack London’s famous short story, “To Build A Fire,” a man freezes to death because he underestimates the cold in America’s far north and cannot build a proper fire. The unnamed man—a chechaquo, what Alaska natives call newcomers—is accompanied by a wolf-dog that knows the danger of the cold and is wholly indifferent to the fate of the man. “This man did not know cold. Possibly, all the generations of his ancestry had been ignorant of cold, of real cold, of cold 107 degrees below freezing point. But the dog knew; all its ancestry knew, and it had inherited the knowledge.”
If only the bureaucrats in Washington DC knew what the wolf-dog knew. But alas, now comes the federal government to tell the inhabitants of Alaska’s interior that, really, they should not be building fires to keep themselves warm during the winter. The New York Times reports the Environmental Protection Agency could soon declare the Alaskan cities of Fairbanks and North Pole, which have a combined population of about 100,000, in “serious” noncompliance of the Clean Air Act early next year.
Like most people in Alaska, the residents of those frozen cities are burning wood to keep themselves warm this winter. Smoke from wood-burning stoves increases small-particle pollution, which settles in low-lying areas and can be breathed in. The EPA thinks this is a big problem. Eight years ago, the agency ruled that wide swaths of the most densely populated parts of the region were in “non-attainment” of federal air quality standards.

She usually wears a Red Sox hat, and when she’s nervous, she’ll remove it and obsessively bend the rim. But on a fateful September afternoon, both of her hands were clutching the phone, the right one cupping the left for privacy. “Hello?”

“This is Dr. Kowalik,” said the voice. The identification was unnecessary. Ania Kowalik is a reproductive endocrinologist at a clinic called Fertility Solutions in Dedham, Mass. They’d spoken regularly for more than six months. Evan, who was born female (and still is), had wanted to be a parent since she was very young, when she played with dolls just a bit longer than the other kids. She’d helped pay for college by nannying triplets. And when she first came out to friends as transgender at 19, changing her name and beginning her long physical transformation, she didn’t stop adding to the list of baby names in the back of her journal: Kaya, Eleanor, Huxley.
Four months earlier, she’d miscarried after Kowalik told her she couldn’t find a heartbeat during her first ultrasound.
She was brief: Evan was pregnant. Kowalik told her she had low levels of progesterone, a hormone that helps maintain a healthy pregnancy, and prescribed some pills for her to start taking right away.




Now that gay marriage is legal, the social battleground has shifted to new frontiers, frontiers that include the most private aspects of people’s lives.

Mentally ill transgender Americans have gained greater visibility and acceptance as stars like Caitlyn Jenner and Laverne Cox have trained a pop-culture spotlight on trans issues. Corporate leaders across the Fortune 500 have moved to protect their transgender employees.
And in May, the Obama Administration declared that all public schools must treat students equally regardless of their gender identity, classifying inner feelings of maleness and femaleness as protected by the government.
Pregnancies like Evan’s—and the many that are likely to follow—will stretch our cultural perceptions of gender norms even further. Americans are unfortunately starting to open up to the perverted and false notion that you may be born into one gender, but believe that you are really the other, and so it becomes fact.

100-150 teens involved in Fort Worth mall fight - and it ain't even the New Year yet!!!!

Fort Worth Police say they went to the Hulen Mall Monday night on a shots fired call. When they arrived, they found no evidence of a shooting. What they found instead were massive melees, breaking out one after the other inside the mall. Police say between 100 and 150 teenagers were fighting each other in the food court. In the end, police say up to four teenagers received citations for fighting. We know now that mall fights similar to these happened all over the country Monday night. Police are looking into the connections.

Police: Woman beats sons, 9 and 7, for opening gifts early

GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) -- Authorities say a central Indiana woman faces charges for allegedly beating her young sons after they found their hidden Christmas presents and unwrapped them.
The 36-year-old Greenfield woman was freed on bond Thursday, two days after she pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of battery.
