Obama Wants Americans To Pay Slavery Reparations, Says Fox Host

The city of Chicago is proposing a $5.5 million reparations package for those who suffered under the ruthless rule of police commander Jon Burge from 1972 to 1991. Backed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the plan would supply victims with free college tuition, counseling for drug abuse and psychological issues, and include a formal apology from the city, according to the Chicago Tribune.
While the plan appears to be an attempt to reckon with part of the city's less-than-spotless past, Thursday evening Fox Business Network's Charles Payne said he's afraid nationwide slavery reparations might be next.
"The news in my mind is a glimpse of really much bigger news that is going to come from the White House," he said. "I think that there’s going to be an official apology from the White House for slavery in America and then there's going to be a major push to get cash. And I’m talking lots of cash.”
Payne, who is black, argued that it would be counterproductive to dwell on the tragedies of the past. He speculated that President Obama would make his push for slavery reparations next year.
“I actually think it would be a major mistake," Payne said. "Instead, Obama should really discuss and focus on all of the progress we have made and how all Americans need to move forward for better days for all of our kids.”
A panel of guests joined Payne, and seemed to echo his views.
"Sure, slavery was a horrible thing that happened, but this is not going to help race relations in the United States today,” Tea Party News Network's Scottie Nell Hughes said....

Former School Police Officer Hired To Protect Students Raped 22 Boys Instead

Former Pittsburgh school police officer Robert Lellock has been arrested and charged with raping 22 male students he was hired to protect. A federal lawsuit notes that school officials should have known about the abuse, as Lellock was frequently taking boys out of the classroom to rape them in a janitor’s closet.
According to the Tribune-Review, Robert Lellock worked for the Pittsburgh public school system as a school police officer where he repeatedly sexually abused at least 22 boys. One victim claims that Lellock removed him from class at least two dozen times to rape him in a janitor’s closet. The victim, who has not been named out of privacy, is now 29-years-old and says that he was raped as a student at the school from 1998-1999.
The lawsuit claims that at least two school officials should have noticed that Lellock was repeatedly taking boys out of the classroom. The lawsuit notes that the school police officer did not have permission to remove students from class; therefore, teachers and administrators should have investigated why the man was frequently seen removing male students from the classroom.

“Not a single teacher reported him, or even questioned him. Not a single teacher made an inquiry to the office,” the lawsuit says.

Black Judges Gives Armed Robbers Light Sentence Saying Three-Year-Old White Victim is ‘Racist’
    Rightwingnews.com ^

A black judge in Kentucky has given two home invaders and armed robbers a light sentence because he feels that their three-year-old white victim was a “racist” because in her victim statement the little girl said she is now afraid of black people after they broke into her home and threatened her with a gun.

In an outrageous statement from the bench, Louisville Judge Olu Stevens attacked the tiny white toddler and her parents for their “racism” calling the little girl’s statement “disturbing” while at the same time excusing the actions of the criminals who traumatized her. That’s right, this judge was more upset at a little girl for being scared by armed robbers than he was at the armed robbers.
At the sentencing trial of one of the robbers, a victim’s impact statement written by the little girl’s mother was entered into evidence. The statement read in part, “Whenever we are running errands, if we come across a black male, she holds me tight and begs me to leave. It has affected her friendships at school and our relationships with African-American friends.”
Then the judge outrageously attacked the little girl saying her statement disgusted him…
But when Wallace was brought up for sentencing Feb. 4 in Jefferson Circuit Court, it was the parents, not Wallace, who suffered Judge Olu Stevens’ wrath.
“I am offended. … I am deeply offended that they would be victimized by an individual and express some kind of fear of all black men,” he said.
“This little girl certainly has been victimized, and she can’t help the way she feels,” he said. “My exception is more with her parents and their accepting that kind of mentality and fostering those type of stereotypes.”
The Grays were not in court as Stevens denounced their statements and granted probation to Wallace, whom he said deserved the opportunity to redeem himself.
So, the armed robber who traumatized a tiny girl gets probation because this judge claimed that the little girl was a racist…. and he assumes, I am sure, that the little girl deserved to be robbed at gun point because she is white.

Sheriff: Hundreds watched ‘gang rape’ in Panama City Beach, did nothing

BAY COUNTY, Fla. – Two college students are under arrest after police found cell phone video allegedly showing the gang rape of an intoxicated teen outside a popular Panama City Beach bar during spring break.
Hundreds stood by in “broad, open daylight” as the 19-year-old woman, who appeared to be passed out on a chair behind the Spinnaker Beach Club, was sexually assaulted by one man after another, Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen told AL.com.
Many watched, some recording with their phones — but no one tried to intervene, officials said.

Goat Rentals Take Off In Seattle On First Day Of Amazon Home Services
    KUOW.org ^

When Amazon launched its Amazon Home Services this week, the stars of the new initiative were …
    Goats.
Seattle goats, specifically, ready to trim back your pesky shrubbery.

“We bring the goats and unload him,” said Tammy Dunakin, head goat wrangler and owner of Rent-A-Ruminant LLC. “The second they hit the ground, they’re eating. It’s incredible to watch. It’s kind of like watching marbles scatter when you drop them on the pavement. And the goats start eating everything in sight."
    And it sounds like ...
Dunakin's goats do work for the city – you may have seen them munching on hills alongside Interstate 5. Others goats have done work for Seattle City Light, clearing brush and opening pathways to steep rocky slopes.
In a statement in 2006, landscape supervisor Betsey Searing explained why City Light chose goats to clear a slope: "The alternatives of clearing brush mechanically or with pesticides were rejected."
"The slope is steep with large, irregular rocks, making it dangerous for people to work safely,” Searing said. “Mechanical equipment cannot reach far enough to do the job. It would require a large amount of herbicide to kill the vegetation and would leave a large mass of dry vegetation that could be a fire hazard. There also could be a danger of overspray reaching adjacent property."
Amazon approached Dunakin to list her service, and she readily agreed.
“You know the hardest part of any business is usually getting customers,” Dunakin said. “I felt like it was a really great way to educate people that this is out there, because it's going to get a huge amount of viewing, and it benefits me and it benefits the industry.”
Dunakin heard from prospective customers on the day of the launch – she said her email just blew up.
“We'll see how many jobs actually come out of that,” she said. But mostly, she was tickled by the newfound fame.
“They actually called me and said, ‘You’re kind of a celebrity in our Amazon office right now because you’re getting so many hits.’”

Turkish Religious Body Issues Fatwa Allowing Muslims to Use Toilet Paper

Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs, known as the Diyanet, issued a fatwa that allows Muslims to use toilet paper. However, the department reminded people “that water should be the primary source of cleansing.”
“If water cannot be found for cleansing, other cleaning materials can be used,” the Diyanet claimed in a statement. “Even though some sources deem paper to be unsuitable as a cleaning material, as it is an apparatus for writing, there is no problem in using toilet paper.”
Islam requires believers to adhere to strict rules regarding bathroom use. When a Muslim enters the bathroom, “one should say the A’udhu (isti’adha) and Basmala and then recite the prayer ‘Allahumma innee a’oodhu bika minal khubthi wal khabaa-ith,’” which means “O Allah! I seek refuge in you from male and female noxious beings (devils or evil Jinn).” The person must enter the bathroom “with one’s left foot and exit with one’s right foot.” No one should “face or have one’s back toward the qibla (direction of prayer – the Ka’ba in Mecca) when urinating or defecating.” One website claimed people must clean their private parts with their fingers and dry with a cloth. Toilet paper is allowed if a proper cloth is not available.
In Turkey, the toilets contain a nozzle in the back of the toilet called taharet muslugu. It turns on and allows Muslims to clean themselves with flowing water. There are quite a few websites dedicated to informing travelers regarding restrooms in the Muslim nation.
The Diyanet also told followers they are allowed to use products containing alcohol for hygiene “as long as the alcohol was not consumed.”
