Let me add to what Rick just said.

No merchant buys protection on this site..........their product, service, and customer care will stand or fall on its own merit. That will be an understanding that is conveyed at point of sale.

In turn, no participant on this site (member or merchant) has to buy courtesy and respect.........we offer those to all for free.

And just to clarify.......if ownership decides to sell ads (for now we have just been told to make the site ad ready), those ads will be only from those within the snus industry. They will not be google pop up banners or intrusive click boxes......in all likelihood, all ads will be regulated to a specially designated space on the forum where they will alert members to deals, specials, and new products............which we then hope will dovetail into the merchants engaging members on the general threads of the forum on a regular basis (ie be a part of the forum life)......much like we saw Roderic from Toque snuff do yesterday

and my guess is that our friend Rickcharles had a direct hand in Roderick's presence........as a test case ...as we are getting ready for more of the same.

I have always been in support of more industry and direct merchant involvement........our own dear GN is a perfect example of how such exchanges can be mutually beneficial to merchants and members alike...and in turn help the greater cause of snus and harm reduction.

The more access we have to them and they to us....the better off we all are in the end.

This is not a sell out.....but a drawing in of the best of the best in the snus/snuff industry under one roof...our roof.......no banners, no protection, but rather honest constructive discussion, requests for a snus you would really like to see made, and heads up to deals, free shipping, and new releases........before anyone else knows

good question...if the review is done intelligently, respectfully and constructively... it stands. No questions asked. The thing that cannot be done is reviewing a product in an inflammatory manner. There are plenty of snus flavors that I don't like...and each and every manufacturer makes at least ONE I don't like, but each manufacturer also makes snus that I do like....so I'd want to help them make a better snus. That's how I see it, especially in my professional capacity. I LOVE to hear positive criticism, but the most valuable critiques are the negative ones. They allow me to see a potential mistake in a product, and potentially change it for the better.

3) Sandman has some unsightly sores on his warrior of love that may or may not be due to a miscalculated urination-fire pit ratio

4) Squeezy was plagerised without being given the decency of hitting spell check first (and as a consequence may have to spend the next 3 days in the "Americans are Dumb" thread--with other bad spellers)

5) Whalen wants to know what others are wearing.....which in all likelihood probably means he is wearing nothing.

So.....in conclusion.......as we look this all over.........let me ask you.......what exactly has change.....aside from the fact that we are all talking about what has changed.

95% of what we do will go unaltered............3% will just be relocated out of the public arena.......the remaining 2% will simply be asked to say the same thing in a more respectful and productive manner......verses merely bashing someone or flaming out.......which I think all of us will agree that we can do without.

Now all that said and done......... on a more serious note.........Squeezy.........Our new Editor of the Snuson Articles section should have asked your OK before using your review as an article. We will make sure that in the future that courtesy will be extended to our members. In the meantime, please know that there has been a lot of work behind the scenes and I am sure we will find a few more wrinkles that need to be ironed out.......and I am equally sure that the lot of you will point them out to us as soon as they are discovered.....with the same glee and morbid delight that my wife has when she points out that we are indeed lost and that I should have stopped and asked for directions when she told me to.....man....when I find the "Ban Your Wife" button on the mod tool belt....it is going to be a happy day............

LOL, bro...you'll not be banned for getting "slightly" off topic...ever, but if a member continually tries to derail a thread, or the tries to take the thread away from the OP's original intent, you'll probably be asked to redirect. A ban for something of this nature would only come after being warned and the offending member continued to do whatever it is that the mod asked them to stop doing.

As for, "who are we deterring", that's just it...we may never know just how many people we've kept away with some of the topics here. While this is a public forum, it is privately owned...and the owner of the forum wants to clean it up, so that's what we'll do. I can't see how doing so will prevent anyone from speaking his (or her) mind in a respectful gentlemanly manner. See, we're like a weirdo family...we can talk to one another a certain way and not be offended, but a new member lurking in the shadows, waiting for a chance to jump in...may be offended by it. I've just personally never been able to tell from what board a thread is coming from. I always just use the most recent list. If i want to get one back up on the board because I have a question I just go to my recent posts to find it. Unless that is somehow reworked it just seem like a lot of work to make sure i don't get baned because i was slightly off topic in a board that may or may not allow that. Atleast once a week we are graced by a "new with questions" thread. This forum does a great job of not doing the typical "sigh use the search box there are hundreds of these threads" I just don't see who we are deterring by talking about fleshlights and blue barrels, we aren't exactly expecting the pope to become a member.
