Funny story...I was watching The Blacklist on television a week or so ago, and they mentioned using Cesium in a dirty bomb. My wife said, what is that, and I said, "it's a radioactive element that I learned about on SnusOn". I'll never be able to say that again...ahahaha

Now, I'm not sure if that's what I heard, because I went back and watched the Cesium video and they don't mention anything about it being radioactive at all. For what it's worth the television show said Cesium 128 (I think), but again...who the hell knows. Regardless...the bad guys didn't get away with it, thankfully, lol.

Caesium is an element [with radioactive isotopes], so you must have picked that up from one of the other videos :saturn:

¹²⁸Caesium is an isotope of Caesium that emits beta radiation. Not sure of its actual effectiveness as a bomb (that might be why they chose that isotope; it's harmless, but sounds terrifying to the average joe).

So, yeah, you might be asking... What's an isotope? Let's have a look back at Carbon --



That number on the bottom of the tile is the atomic weight. Which is the weighted average of atomic mass for that particular element.

Elements have different isotopes (or variants). So, for example with Carbon; there are 15 known isotopes of Carbon (each has its own atomic mass and neutron configuration).

Of the 15 known isotopes of carbon, ¹²Carbon is the most abundant isotope of Carbon in the world. Its atomic mass is 12 (exact). ¹⁴Carbon [a radioactive isotope of Carbon] on the otherhand, has an atomic mass of 14.003241 [but it is far less abundant than the ¹²Carbon isotope].

Notice a pattern when it comes to the isotope's atomic weight, and the isotope's labeling? :^)
