I don't watch TV, but the radio is the usual stuff. DPRK makes threats, and everyone else threatens back. It's all theatre, and the players are reveling in their new relevance. The usual suspects are probably already sucking dick in DC to get some more defense money.

Maybe its improved. I was there in 91, 93, 95 and 97 and there is no way on this planet that any sane person would have said there was anything good about it. But judging by tech these days theyve come a long way very quickly. Samsung used to be shite.

Korean is the poor man's Japanese. You get 95% of the quality at 50%-75% of the price. That's getting to be less the case though. I suppose China is next up for the deals. They still make junk, but they're improving.

I was thinking the same thing. You should see how fast they've made somewhat good cars. And with all of our electronics that are manufactured there, it's just a matter of time until the right reverse-engineering is done lol.

When closed minded travelers -- and come on, hopefully you yourself can admit to being one -- say some place is a "dump", it cannot be taken the least bit seriously. Especially about South Korea. Now had you said "I've been to Dushanbe Tajikistan 4 times and trust me, it's a dump" I would chalk it up to our differences and not question you or call you out. But come ON.... Seoul is extremely modern, historically rich, monetarily rich, extremely safe, and if nothing else, a place where MFRs watch live television on their massive cell phones. Do you do that? Knowing your military background I assume you spent those sojourns at the DMZ, with trips to and from Incheon most likely. Anyway... before you get too upset, let me be clear that I was born there and lived there for a time later on, and I also know damn well apart from that, that S. Korea is not a dump by any means.
