Had it and have prepared it. It's a very tasty and very lean meat. I'm also like mdisch and have eaten just about every type of meat presented to me. I particularly love reindeer meat! Wish we could get it here in Northern Illinois! :-)

I ate horse for breakfast almost every day for 10 days straight. Never had it in the US though. The more interesting question is, would you eat cat meat?

Cat and dog, eaten both, Chengdu will be remembered for that reason and that reason only! lol Dog is just like greasy chicken, not very nice IMO.

How did you have it prepared? If its stewed its like mutton (vile) I had it deep fried first and it was like thinly sliced deep fired chicken and very greasy, again not nice. Second time I was unaware it was dog and thought it was a mutton stew, phuqing nasty!

I'd actually go mostly vegan if I could afford it. Crazy world we live in, animals are horribly inefficient to raise and yet they're cheaper to eat.

Vegan eater for nearly two years now, it is not more expensive than a "decent" omnivore diet, but more work.

Chopped with a giant cleaver then stir-fried in a giant wok with chilies. Chased with $150 bottle of cognac A most memorable meal, to be sure.
