It's gonna kill me! When the hell is this going to end? I'm actually beginning to think Al Gore may be right!

Climate change is an undeniable fact. Get used to unpredictable, harsh weather. Blizzards in the winter, localized storms with the power of hurricanes, and drought. The world's worse today than it was yesterday, but right now is the good old days. Enjoy them. They'll be a fond memory next year.

I like to look at other areas of the world that have a reasonable climate. It's 55F in Forde Norway, and 61F in Galway Ireland. Those are appropriate summer temps.Originally posted by ChiggerThis is about the time of year I always start longing for the crisp cool days of September and October.

Records are being broken everywhere this summer. We had a one with 22 days of over 90 degrees in 1932 that has now been broken with 29 this summer and counting.
My tipping point is about 77-78 degrees. When it goes over that I start to feel uncomfortable.

Despite it not being hot here at all, I still can't wait for October.

That sounds perfect Roo. I'd consider living in Washington, but it's a long way from the east coast. It might be a bit too foreign for my tastes. It's on the list though, after New England :^)Originally posted by RooAhhhh, 61F and cloudy with sun breaks coming this afternoon

Here's my forecast. It'll get a bit cooler later this week, but not cool enough.

And I'm sure that here in Dortmund (on the rainside of the Sauerland mountains, in the transition zone between a maritime and a continental climate) it's even worse than in any other part of Germany (or Europe for that matter).Originally posted by anam_caramThe same here in Germany, i wait every day for the summer.
My tobacco plants, seeded 3 months ago, have just begun to grow. They roughly have the size of a lettuce at the moment. With normal weather they would already be taller than me and ripe for harvest. Luckily the plants are very tough and I'm sure they'll make it even if it lasts till October.
Cheers!

Yah the trend is pretty clear now. Wether natural ending of the ice age thing or AGW doesn't really matter, we are in a record drought (one of many records set almost yearly all across the world). You are right, these are the good old days and everyone should enjoy them. Things could change REAL quick over the next 20 years or so as the ocean starts getting warmer and that will pretty much affect everything from food to where people can live etc. Al Gore is a phony but the shift in climate is unedniable at this point. Hopefully the earth can stabilize it like it did in the past and not take 1 million years to do so.Originally posted by lxskllrClimate change is an undeniable fact.
