You would just email me the PDF and I would load it on there and then give you a link, and literally thousands of poeple a day could view/download it at high speeds without any interruption.
Hey thanks, i think it's cool - it's uploaded and can be viewed pretty quick so i'm pleased. It's a promotional PDF for my nephew who is trying to get sponsorship for his motorsport.
Thanks Precious too, and Fazer again... and all of you! :-)
Not sure how to do it without a domain of your own, but they really cheap now (.com's) sell for 2.99 at namecheap and a shared hosting account is $9.99 a month.
There are various .PDF sharing sites though where you don't have to wait and people can read your PDF file right on their site such as slideshare.net, scribd.com etc :-)
I see on the "What do you guys do for a living?" thread that you are doing this for a living, how's work ? Do you have work all year round at the moment ?

it really depends over the years I've been into quite a few things (you can't make a living online from just one thing, unless you have a steadily growing project that needs huge investments)
I've been to date into web design, programming, marketing, consulting, content creation etc.......... every little bit adds up ............... the income isn't always constant though..
I run a couple of sites, i'm not a full time web guy but i like to keep my hand in. Yes you can get cheap domain names, but that's only part of the picture. I'm doing a site at the moment and i've used http://www.webhosting.uk.com/cpanel-hosting.php for the domain name registration, and hosted it on a shared linux hosting server. It has a point and click install of FREE blogs, forums, galleries, and ecommerce tools etc...etc, via a cPanel control panel for £49 per year inc VAT, all in...
I've been with Hostgator and 1and1 ever since I've been online (shared hosting)
I used other companies for dedicated servers.
Currently with Gator and I'm happy with their VPS (great customer support too)
So I have this website and I would like to start a forum for the particular topic the website is about, as there are a lack of even halfway decent ones...
