Yup I want the ice cream sandwich deal for Android but I have no idea how to download it. I know some of the newer phones have it installed.. I have an HTC inspire. I just want the newest Android OS.

I have the HTC Inspire as well

My question is do our phones have the processer capacity to handle the new OS (most IC Sandwich phones have dual processors) and do we have a battery with enough ump to handle the new OS

I am looking at the Samsung Galaxy starship (or whatever it is called) with 4.5 screen, new OS, Dual core, and hopefully an adequate battery…but it is going to have to come down a bit in price before I think of making the change

No worries…………I’m in no hurry………. I really like my HTC

Thanks for the info. I really like it as well. The big screen is great. It's like a mini tablet ha. Just the battery dies pretty quick on mine so I have an extra charger for work. I like how the battery is easy to take out. A few times it froze on me. Just took out the battery, popped it back in and it worked like a charm.

It looks pretty far a long and pretty stable compared to many others.

About ICS... It rocks Just got the alpha of it for my Touchpad. Best $99 I ever spent :P

Ha, rooting, roms and rim jobs? No idea what that all is... I'll just do like you said. Upgrade to a newer phone later. Like my dad used to say if it's not broke don't fix it.

Now now.. Everyone has to start somewhere. I actually encourage people to learn about their devices instead of being stuck with horribly outdated and not updated versions of their software. I think the single biggest problem with Android is just that, telco's controlling software version and updates.

If you read, follow instructions you end up with a device that 99.9% of the time works betters, lasts longer and has better features (and no carrier IQ crap!) than stock releases.

Don't let the acronyms and instructions intimidate you, learn, take it slow and free your device!

With ICS starting to show up, I actively encourage folks to get it if its at "daily driver" quality levels. it's that damn good.
