I'll probably go the cheaper route. Considering I only real use them while my wife shops and I sit somewhere. Usually walmart, they got the good bench by the damn deoderant where I watch fools smell each one. Remember when you guys buy deoderant never by the first one on the rack cause chances are some douche had his/her nose on it. Speaking of which that would make a fun prank to entertain me. I could spray all the deals with cat piss Nah better yet that deer in heat piss spray hunters use. Watch their reactions. Ok I'm rambling again ha.

I go through headphones every 4 or 5 months, I always blow them out. I go with the ipod brand not for the sound but because they are thin enough to fit nicely under my motorcycle helmet -- I haven't found a pair that didn't stick out too far other than the white buds. I'm sharing this to recommend that if you buy headphones at Radioshack, buy the $7 replacement policy thing that they offer. Every 4 or 5 months I go to Radioshack and just pay the $7 renewal fee on this policy, and get new ones no questions asked. They offer this for a lot of their products. FOr something that needs to be replaced a lot, but not due to loss, this program really pays off.

I use a cheap pair of Sony ear buds I got a few years ago. I just use them for working out.

Skullcandy does okay for what most people are looking for in headphones, but in my experience, the wires around the jack tend to crap out within 3-6 months of use, and then you get to play the game of trying to find the perfect position so the broken wires make contact, and wrapping them in electric tape. At the moment, I'm using a pair of Sony MDR-ZX100 headphones that I picked up for $20 a Best Buy. If you're using a device with an equalizer on it, I imagine they'll serve nicely. Otherwise, they're a bit too bass heavy for what I want. They can do a full range nicely, but without equalizing before they get the signal, they just give you this overpowering bass and you can hardly hear higher frequencies properly.

I may be the only one here but I recommend Skullcandy. They have a pair with a mic built in for handsfree talking on cellphone and very good sound and reasonably priced for $20ish at Radioshack, mic-less is cheaper. My destructive son has had a pair of skullcandy earbuds for 3 years, uses them daily, they are just nasty now with caked in earwax..he is so gross but they still sound great with all of the wax!! I swear by these because my kid has used other earbuds, sony & jvc and somehow has broken the cords!! He is very hard on things, not sure what he does to rip cords in half but skullcandy is immune so far.

Yeah great set of buds, they need to be burned in (20-30 hrs is more than enough) but that's the case with any good set of earphones.

You guys are awesome.. I'll definitely take all your suggestions in consideration no doubt.

Shortiee that 40 bucks sounds real good but sounds too good to be true. I got burned on eBay with fake Lacoste shirts ha, the people who sold them to me had really good ratings. I don't get it.

I just bought a cheap pair of skullcandy earbuds and a kinda cheap bluetooth headset with headphone jack off Amazon......

I drove myself CRAZY reading reviews and shit like that. I looked at all kinds of headphones (wired and bluetooth) for over a week, each time not being any closer to deciding and frustrated.

Finally, I took my sunglasses approach........ Buy a pair that is economical but decent so that way if I lose them or break them I dont have to sweat it.

Think about how many hours you are willing to work for a pair of headphones and buy accordingly. LMAO

WE are the same person. As someone who is an audiophile I can tell you that Beats are nothing but slightly better than average materials stuffed into a rappers name and loud noise. You dont have to be like me and try to pick up on subtle differences while listening to things with different headphones, I was just giving my input that you can pay way less to get the same product minus someones name on them.

They are cheap products that go boom loud but that doesnt mean they play music in quality. They put someone name or a brand logo in front of the product and some people just see the name and buy it (ie any apple product.) The beats are cheap and worthless on the actual headphones so im assuming its the same for the ear buds as well.

Over ear actual headphones sennheiser 555
Have either of you actually tried the beats by dre earbuds? If you have not, don't go jumping to conclusions that just because a rappers name is on them that they are automatically crap. I have the beats by dre studio headphones that I use for mixing and they are amazing. I've tried the earbuds that one of my friends purchased and they do actually produce very good quality sound. All I'm saying is, don't knock them until you try them; for the price that they are, they are very good quality.

I'm looking on eBay right now and I'm seeing some slightly used pairs for around $40, and even new ones for around $90. You don't always have to pay retail fellas.

I got a pair of Koss headphones at WalMart for $5. They sound decent and have their own volume control so I can turn them down easily if I am at work. I wouldn't say they are the best pair of headphones I have ever head but for the price it's not bad.

I have several pair laying around from all the different mp3 players I've had. I don't like crap stuck in my ear. If I'm using earbuds, it's my last ditch effort for entertainment, and I'm probably miserable anyway, so I don't care about the finer points. All of which is to say, I'd never spend over $10 on earbuds. If sound that approximates the *compressed* audio comes out of both sides, I'm as happy as I'll get with them.
