Painting and redoing the floor. Remind me why I though this would be a good idea?

Over summer I had the downstairs of my terraced house damp coursed, painted, floor laminated (which required my kitchen to be gutted) and my lawn was paved. My house was uninhabitable for 2 weeks.

My advice is get some good tunes on the go

Exactly Vulpes. Another room down with just the trim to paint when it dries tomorrow. Just a hallway and the kitchen left! The reinforcements came (wife and kids :P) so that made it much better!

I painted the baby's room last weekend, it was poo brown before. I did a magnificent job taping off all the wood trim, only to pull it off and find that the paint leaked through onto every inch of the wood trim. So pissed. Hope that doesn't happen to you! It was Scotch brand wide painting tape.

I'll honestly hire someone else next time. While I enjoy a job well done, I would much more enjoy it just done :P

Two more walls, a bit of ceiling and then the trim work left!!

My father put it best with the old cliche..

You want something done right, do it yourself.

Being in business, I tend to disagree, unless it's something you are good at. Here is my rule of thumb:

If I'm good at it, do it. If not, pay someone else or train someone to do it for you :P

I should of clarified, I meant things like that can be done by anyone. Such as painting or washing a car.

I actually don't mind painting, it's the quickest way to rejuvenate a tired room. My wife loves that I feel this way too, lol.
