My vote also goes to the WII. It's the only system that I like playing on, and I'm 31 btw.
They have some pretty nice adult games (check out Madworld for example) and the reason I love the WII most, are the cheap wii-ware and virtual console games. All the games I played as a kid, now for just a few bucks downloadable to enjoy again, including all the older nintendo systems, sega systems and arcade systems.

Of course, if you are talking Gears of War or Call of Duty or Halo or any of those, XBox 360 is the way to go. For that matter, go big and get a Kinect too (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/kinect).
The Wii has Netflix as well, and I believe Hulu Plus is coming for it, but the only good games on it are the ones made by Nintendo.

I'm partial to the PlayStation controllers but that's probably because I have long skinny fingers and I grew up on PlayStation. Online is very important because certain Xbox/PS3 games are made for online multiplayer. Xbox LIVE is more popular in the US and the xbox controllers will still be comfortable if you have chubby hands (at least this is what my heavier friends tell me). The Gears of War is Xbox-only so if your kids are die hard GoW fans you might want to go for the xbox.

How old are the kids? The Wii is great for younger kids. Honestly, there isn't much difference between the two consoles besides exclusive titles for each. I'd try and find out if there are some exclusive games they want and see if that helps guide the decision. If they really want Gears of War for example, clearly the Xbox is your answer.

As far as i know, the reliability issues have been significantly reduced finally with the latest slim 360 model.

definately get pong for them. Then Champ, you might even be able to learn how to use it. Pong is good for hand eye coordination for old geezers like you. It helps prevent alheimers and dementia. good luck with that.

    Calling all Gamers....I need help

Okay, the only gaming system I've ever owned is the very first Xbox, loved it for about 2 months and gave it away to my nephew. Haven't owned one since. That being said, my kids are all hounding me for a gaming system for Christmas. Not sure which to get. Either the Xbox Gears of War system or the PS3? I'm sure many of you have played both and have opinions, so let's hear them....please ;-) Pros and Cons would be good too if you can offer them.

    Thanks in advance guys ;-)

    Rick
