    I Want One

Whizzer motorbike. There's surprisingly little information on the web regarding the new remakes, but as near as I can tell, I can get one for ~$1,500. They go 30mph out the shop door, but can be modified to go 70mph. A 70mph moped! I think that might be a little faster than I'd want to go on that, but 45-50mph would be sweet, especially at ~90mpg :^)

That is so cool!!! I want one.. Sweet! I watch American Pickers all the time and that name sounds familiar... In any case I have seen them pick these kind of bikes...

On a lightly unrelated note, I have seen quite a few modified Ruckus scooters around town with some monster size engines dropped in them here. They take out the entire foot space and fill it with engine. Next time o see one I have to ask what they did.....they look cool and go fast.

Does the Ruckus require a license? What I like about mopeds, is you don't need a motorcycle license to ride one. If I modded the Whizzer, I could cruise at ~45mph until I saw a cop, and then slow it down to 35mph ;^)

I'm pretty sure it would have to be licensed and titled so you'd probably have to have a license to ride on the street. There's aa 2008 with 315 miles on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Whizzer-NE5-...#ht_500wt_1413

Man, that's cheap. In MD you don't need anything special for a moped; you can just ride it. I'm not sure how that would apply to the Whizzer though. Mopeds usually have a 50cc motor. The Whizzer's like 148cc, or something like that. It might be easy to overlook though, since it's on a bicycle frame. I imagine there's a cutoff somewhere, or you could put pedals on a Harley, and go out tag free :^D

I see scooters running around here without tags, and some of them look a bit bigger than moped size. I don't know if they just aren't getting caught, no one cares, or what. That's why I'm thinking I could get away with the Whizzer. If nothing else, regular scooters lack the stunning good looks :^)
