Hey all. Really cool forum you have here. I'm somewhat new to snus, having used Camel's variety for a few weeks before finally ordering some of the real deal. I got my General White Portions in the mail yesterday and I LOVE them. I used dip in high school, smoked cigarettes after that (for about 10 years) then went back to dip (before switching to snus). So far I highly prefer snus to cigs. Can't imagine going back. Anyways, just wanted to say hi.

Other than General Whites, did you get any other variety with your order? If so, what are your thoughts on them?

Thanks! No, I just got a roll of the General Whites. Any recommendations for others to try? I didn't want to get too bold on my first order. I read good things about General and wanted to see what the Swedish stuff was all about. Way higher nicotine content, which I like! The flavor was a little different, but the second one I had was better than the first. Clearly the Camel stuff I was using is loaded with artificial flavors.

Welcome CHI Snusfan. I am a newbie to snus aswell. I am currently enjoying a tin of general regular (non-white) portions and they are very tastey, love the citrus undertones. If you like "pure" tobacco flavor maybe you wanna try a can of grov on your next order. At first grov really threw my sense for a loop, but after a few portions I really appreciated the flavor. Just my .02

Thanks for the tip. I think I'd probably prefer something with a bit of a flavor to it. I really like the citrus flavor (although subtle) of this General. My favorite American dips were always flavored as well. Skoal Wintergreen and Berry Blend were probably my two favorites.

I have never had them, but you can look into the "offroad" brands of snus. They made several flavored varieties. They should be listed at buysnus.com
Also check out this post which has a link the a snus wiki site that is still in development, but it has many brands listed, some with descriptions.

I too love general. Grov and Offroad Cranberry are also staples in my daily use. You may want to try the goteborgs rape line. rape has a nice tobacco/juniper mix where the #2 has elderberry (i think. never had the #2 personally). The phantom blue is also a nice juniper/herbal blend, though you will really only get a tobacco tone from the Los. The portion is much more subdued on the tobacco flavor. Everyone here is also very excited about the new Jakobsonn's line. The icefruit is supposed to be (from what i can tell) a cool (maybe mentholated) blueberry. I have a couple tins of that on the way.

If you like fruity I'd also recommend the Roda Lacket White portion. I'm not a huge fan of overly flavored snus but the RL portion is (even i must admit) delicious.

The GR to me tastes like Gin... not that I find this at all objectionable (quite the opposite).. haven't had GR#2 yet, it's in the freezer awaiting trial.
