All day yesterday I heard the news reports that "The government has secured 14 arrests of members of the infamous hacker group Anonymous. Anonymous is wanted for crimes such as disrupting service for Visa, Mastercard, Amazon & Paypal among others".
It's blatant propaganda. They make it seem like these are hackers maliciously taking down the poor banks. No where did they mention that the whole thing was a protest because the government arbitrarily, without any charges, evidence, or just cause, decided to tell these financial institutions to blacklist Julian Assange because he was a political dissident and to make sure that no one could donate money to him. Without so much as a trial or a warrant they were able to convince some of the largest financial institutions to stop processing donations to his account because he is a political dissident, even though all of said financial institutions still allow donations to the KKK. It's big government at it's worst.
All anonymouse did was stage some civil disobedience in the form of a modern day sit in, they clogged up the traffic on the websites of these companies so as to temporarily disrupt business, just like one would do in a sit-in where you fill up their lobby with people so it disrupts things. They didn't break anything or do anything other than DDOS places.
But you will not hear on most of the media networks that this was an amazing act of defiance of a fascist government, who is picking political dissidents and blacklisting them, that this group was out trying to make a point that we will not stand for this kind of totalitarian approach to political dissidents. Instead all you hear on the news is that some evil hackers who were hacking your banks were victoriously put in jail for their crimes against humanity.
The day has come, and swooping people up in vans in the middle of the night is only a hop and a skip away from what we are currently allowing. The dems and reps are both behind this, please do not vote for them in 2012, they are your enemy.
EDIT:
It's starting:
In Gould, Arkansas, the City Council has moved to ban all gatherings and groups, no matter how small from discussing city matters without prior permission from the authorities.

When you are getting f#cked in the ass, are you thinking, well this sucks, but there's nothing better, soo I will take this ass f#cking and deal with it. Or are you thinking ass F#cking sucks and there has to be a better way not to get f#cked in the ass. Or are you scared that you will die if you no longer get f*cked in the ass, so the only way to survive is to keep with the ass f*cking. You all need to answer these questions for yourself. But to me fighting the ass-f#cking is more important than anything.......
Eric: Mom, can I borrow some of your lipstick?
Eric's mom: Why honey?
Eric: Because i'd at least like to look pretty the next time you decide to **** ME!
Eric: Hey there's a restaurant at the next exit, can we pull over and get some dinner? Because I like to at least be wined and dined before decide to **** ME!
Eric: Does anybody have a cigarrette? I like to burn one down after I get GOOD AND ****ED!

I don't think you could have said it better sgreger. I have been following these guys for awhile, and all they do is protest. It is peaceful in my eyes as well. The media has become so convoluted that people never get the real information if they don't bother to search for it....which they don't

The Capitalist system really worked well for many people for a long time but when corporations became greedy we get what we have today. Corporatism instead of Capitalism.
Pretty soon it will be Corporate Globalism and yes, that will be much worse then what we have now. Whatever your salary is today, I will bet the farm (if I had one) that it will be the same salary your are making in the next 10 years.
With everything costing more.
That is how Corporate Globalism will work.
I like the old system of Capitalism and would fight to restore that.

"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power." - Mussolini
The reason the working class are suffering is because:
The top 1% of earners takes in more than twice the share of national income today than they did 30 years ago, and that's a big reason why consumers are tapped out
And finally:
29 public companies have more cash on hand each than the U.S. Treasury - but they won't spend it to create jobs.
They are sitting on 10 trillion, meanwhile they have convinced us that to fix the budget we need to reduce SS checks and healthcare for the elderly.
It was all bound to happen eventually:
"… corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed." - Abraham Lincoln
Rome is burning:
Four distinct eras of world domination, each divided into merchant phase, industrial expansion, financialisation. Shift to last phase signifies "autumn". When finance era ends, so does the empire.

We are thriving as a country, it's just the the wealth is soaked up to the top, we would be doing fine if the regulatory framework was more focused on the economy and less focused on helping out politicians already wealthy buddies:
Productivity has surged, but income and wages have stagnated for 99% of Americans. If the median household income had kept pace with the economy since 1970, it would now be nearly $92,000, not $50,000.
Over 23% of all the goods and services made since 1AD were produced from 2001 to 2010.
And the long term outlook isn't looking too hot:
Uneven Aging of America; Cultural Shift Coming; Competition for Resources Between Young and Old Will Be Intense
Only 1 in four teens are currently employed
Economist: Youth Unemployment by Country (a whole generation is missing out on work, when they do get to work eventually they will be years behind and this will affect the economy severely)
Geithner: "it's going to feel very hard, harder than anything they've experienced in their lifetime now, for a long time to come."
Q: When Will The Jobs Come Back? A: Not For A Long Time
A Lost Decade in Jobs: "Currently we have fewer people working in America than just before the dot-com bust."
