Yah I think it's a publicity stunt too. In the end our choice doesn't matter, time and time again we see that it just boils down to who they want in power. They can block all the people whom they don't like from getting elected, so trying to overthrow them via democratic venues such as elections is pointless.

I propose that we only elect the worse individuals to office, the ones who will commit the most blatant abuses that will be the most visible to everyone. Only through this abuse can americans really wake up and see that the time for action is now and that we have to move as a unified bloc against the highly-organized elite. I have half a mind to vote for Obama just so he can continue to destroy things at an exponentially accelerating place.

I think a profitable bumper sticker campaign could come from this idea. The "Let It Burn" party (conveniently shortened to LIB party):

Bumper stickers read: "LET IT ALL BURN. Vote Obama 2012"

EDIT: This might be a good idea actually. Start a party that runs on the basis of "Our party is voting for the worst possible candidate, since he will be most likely to tank things faster and by electing him more people can see how corrupt things have become". Then, instead of electing our own guy, we choose one of the mainstream candidates from either the dem or reps and have a primary where we choose THEM as the guy we're voting for. So if you are a bad candidate, the entire "Let it burn" party will vote for you and endorse you and say "We have chosen this years worst leader and everyone will be voting for him since he is the worst". Would throw a whole new angle into the political pundit/media machine where presidential victories may start beign seen as a bad thing, that they only won because voters wanted to elect the worst guy. Lol.

I AM a socialist, and always knew Obama wasn't one(that was some ole' tea party nonsense, those people can't read or something), I voted for Mike Gravel in 2008. Obama's health care bill is like satire when you read it! I'm not happy that he recently just gave up completely on guantanamo bay(the prisoners are just being held there, forever, that's it), though I did support the no-fly zone on lybia, I will be remiss if we put boots on the ground.

Not happy. I don't think he's worse than bush- but not much better.

All politicians are b*stards, regardless of their party. I'm contemplating giving up voting altogether.

Nah. If Obama snused, nearly everyone here would immediately throw they're stashes away. Knee jerkin' and so forth.

Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is the only Republican candidate to officially throw his hat in the ring at this point. I've seen some of his recent interviews and would say that he is a better GOP candidate than Trump. He also didn't flip-flop on his campaign promises as Governor in MN. Not one state tax increase during his 8 year tenure.

Pawlenty pretty much used homeowners by severly increasing property taxes to achieve his budgets. That's how he got away with the clean no new taxes image. He leans towards being a NeoCon and big establishment ass moocher and that is why I would never support him.

Way too much of a career politician type.

Counties individually set property taxes and those revenues go to the counties, not the state. Pawlenty had nothing to do with that, nor could he.

And Obama isn't a career politician? C'mon man... At least Pawlenty has administrative experience. I do see him as a strong GOP Vice Presidential candidate when he more than likely loses in the primaries.

A thought that's been amusing me the lat few days, is what would happen if NOBODY voted on election day? Not one single vote. What's the protocol when that happens? I'd like to see the country shutdown by mass apathy :^D

The candidates and their staff would vote though. What usually happens in low turnout <30 is the winners are highly ideological zealots. You can look at who's in charge of local government or go to a city council meeting to see what that's like.

I know next to nothing about your government except, like most countries (including mine) you seem to love one canditate then once they are elected you seem to hate him. I'm not having a go or anything this is just how it seems.

Trump built an empire. He gets things done. I would vote for him. . . what is his campaign slogan? It would be quite ironic for Trump to be elected just after the recession as we all know his famous catch phrase is 'You're Fired!'.

As I said before. I'm not having a go at you.

Way I see it, I live in a couontry where maybe a third vote then everyone complains about who gets elected! We get what we ask for. Lets face it, a politician gets millions from big oil, big tobacco, big pharmaceutical, etc. to finance their campaigns. They know less than a third of us schlubs vote. Where would anyone expect their loyalties to lie? If they knew they had to keep us happy, because if all of us voted all of us would control their future, they just may see things differently.

With public campaign financing and pathetic voter turn-outs, we get what we ask for!
