Any eclectic music fans out there?

My u-verse dvr box went on the frits (which was just installed Tuesday for christs sake) so I decided to look at some music videos on the YouTube and I realized I like a lot of different stuff. I started with dancehall reggae, went looking for some old Miami hip hop, then got into some old heavy metal, then davled into some ska, then some punk, then went back to techno, about to look at some tori amos, Ani DiFranco stuff. Then probably some classic rock, then some blues, 50s, 80s new wave maybe etc etc. I just listen to a lot of genres. I got it from my dad who passed. He told me "Eric, liatening to just one type of music is like eating burgers every day it gets old quick"

For me, every type of music from funk to folk and punk to polka has its moment when that is what I want to listen to.

Except 80's speed metal. That is always right....yeah!....Metal \m/ wooooo!!!! Actually any metal....any time.

I'm not generally a fan of modern styles, but there's exceptions to everything. Lately I've been listening mostly to classic jazz and post rock, but I have everything from Islamic prayer chants, to Celtic, to doowop, to classic rock. A lot of it is on the computer in one huge playlist, and It almost always on random.

I DJ weddings and parties, so I have a rather diverse music collection. I mostly listen to classic rock, oldies, 80's, 90s and really draw the line at the turn of the century. Music nowadays sucks IMHO...while there have been some good hits and great albums, 90% of it sucks.

Hell yeah that brings me back. I miss nights sitting out on the front lawn with my buds blasting some priest, maiden, megadeath, pantera etc etc.. of course with a couple cases of beer in a cooler.

Sad to say a lot of the stuff on the radio now is crap. Singing about their 20 inch rims and shit.

I consider myself to be eclectic, but probably not nearly so much as some people. My basic favorite music is 60's-70's rock and blues rock, but I enjoy some jazz, some country music, some "pop" music, some classical, some big band, etc.

I mostly listen to non-pop metal, old school stuff, Venom, Sodom, some "newer" black metal, but I also like Gary Numan, Bowie, Eno, Ultravox, Pizzicato 5, Devo, Kraftwerk, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Motorhead, Hawkwind, The Exploited, Discharge, Neil Diamond, Indian ragas, Qwalli, so I guess that's ecliectric. The only stuff I don't care for is country(but I do like Taylor Swift, maybe because I think she's hot), rap, I hate rap, but I used to like it mid 80's to early 90's, now I think it's the ultimate crap. I do sometimes like Rhianna, Keri Hilson's song is OK, I don't much like "black music", but I often like a girl singer, but then the song is so often ruined by some crap rap interlude.

I had my iPod on shuffle last night and some of my work employees were like "WTF?" It went from Frank Sinatra to Gogol Bordello to Rage Against The Machine to Conway Twitty to Dave Matthews Band to Grandmaster Flash to Slayer, etc etc. I listen to pretty much everything.

I do enjoy a wide variety of music. For example, I just had Mountain's "Climbing!" on my turntable, followed it with Frank Zappa's "We're Only In It For The Money," which I am enjoying right now. I am planning on following that with the Sex Pistol's "Never Mind The Bollocks." Life for me would be boring without a wide variety of music to enjoy.

As for my last.fm top fifteen, it is as follows:
                              1 They Might Be Giants
                              2 Shonen Knife
                              3 Frank Zappa
                              4 Devo
                              5 The Dead Milkmen
                              6 Dogbowl
                              7 Thingy
                              8 Heavy Vegetable
                              9 Touch Me Zoo
                              10 Meat Puppets
                              11 Hüsker Dü
                              12 Joe Jack Talcum
                              13 Beat Happening
                              14 Rob Crow
                              15 Ween
