The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest(Possible tiny spoiler)

Just watched the last movie in the Millennium trilogy. I was looking for snus the whole way through since it is a Swedish movie.

I thought it was pretty funny that she was jonesing for a cig for most of the movie and when she finally got a pack of smokes, she had one at her apartment and by the next scene, she was SNUSING and didn't smoke again. :-D

    Good trilogy and highly recommended.

My wife read the books before they were movies, and said one of the main characters uses GR.

Yeah my parents read all three books last year and recommended them. I have the first one on my kindle now, but have one to finish first. Bad thing is that when I see a movie before reading a book, I normally don't finish the book(unless it is REALLY good)

It's all a matter of perception.

                Smoking is international.
                Snus is .............. regional (supposedly).

Anyone ..... anywhere in the world ... can relate to smoking.
The character is in crisis mode... therefore reaching for a smoke conveys that message.
Reaching and placing a snus is a more docile activity and doesn't enhance the danger
                the filmmaker wants to convey.

Unless it's a Thunder snus with lightning sparks flying around when taken.

Also, smoking is perceived to be 'macho' whereas snus has yet to achieve that status.
Snus needs the equivalent of the Marlboro Man or Joe Cool, not a Snus Moose!!

I read all the books before I started snussing and can't say I noticed any mentions of snus, but then I wasn't looking for it.

Only seen the first film, really enjoyed it, and need to rent the second one. Not sure if Hornets nest is out here to rent yet.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is more of a thinking person's film ... certainly not a wham-bang-thank-you-ma'am action adventure. One has the time to experience each moment's objective. Right?

Overall, the filmmakers are gearing their films more towards the crash/bang/car-chase & smash moviegoers. Box office receipts generally prove that every weekend (unless a Disney-type film is released then parental guilt trips take precedence).

Maybe it's time to get Woody Allen aligned with snus. His films
are usually very popular and it's his kind that can subtly sneak
in the likes of snus into a number of scenarios.

                            Avant-garde, baby.
What's in your wallet? .... aahh, I mean What's in your mouth?
