Connemara (peated) single malt is good if your a fan of Islay Scotches and is usually about £25 a bottle.

I vote Jameson's. That's my go-to.
Bushmills is Protestant Whiskey. (A little "Wire" reference for you...)
I'd also suggest Tullemore Dew as a bit more affordable option.
Michael Collins is fantastic if you can find it.
I like my brown liquors... Now lemme know when we're talking Bourbons!

I hate Jamesons. Their high end products are alright, but not worth the cost. Their base whiskey is just about undrinkable. It must be 99% grain with only a drop of pot still so they can call it Irish. For a budget whiskey, I like Tullamore Dew. Get the standard bottle instead of the crock to save significant money. Otherwise, I like Red Breast, and Black Bush. Tyrconnell is somewhere in between splitting price and quality.Comment
