We don't really have this stuff in the UK. The equivalent is white cider, which is cheap as chips, strong as hell (7% +), and popular with the young 'uns who can't afford to get drunk in style. The government has even debated the stuff in parliament, with a view to taxing it more highly because of the trouble associated with it.

I've drunk it, but it's way too sweet for my tastes.

We also have super strength lagers like Carlsberg Special Brew and Tennants Super, but they're not really the same as malt liquor. They're just f**king strong and taste rank, and tramps drink it, hence the nickname "trampagne"

Down in south Florida Miami area they didn't sell 40s but quarts. Good times when I was a teenager. We'd have an older guy buy it and we'd just hang at the beach and BS.

It is illegal to sell fo-tays in Kansas City and St. Louis city limits. For a state with a generally lax approach to alcohol regulation, Missouri has drawn the line at the 40 oz single-serving beverage.

In truth, this is because there was at one time a problem with people purchasing forty ounces primarily for their usefulness in the act of clubbing other people shitless. You can still buy them in Illinois and Kansas though, but this requires a trip into either East St. Louis or Johnson county, neither of which are desirable places to be if you are attempting to achieve inebriation of any degree.

I think they need to bring out the old 64 oz Olde English again. It had great pig ears and would do you just fine with buying just one. Woops, I did not find a picture with pig ears, only a large lip to hold it with.
