I have only one small quibble with the story and one dour observation. One of the companies touted in Sweden's success story is Volvo which has been on the skids for quite a while and has changed ownerships twice now. Currently they are owned by a Chinese carmaker named Geely who is attempting to improve Volvo's sales while draining as much tech from them as they can manage. Geely has saved a number of jobs which the Swedes must appreciate but that happy circumstance should be tempered by Geely's unapologetic leeching of Volvo core technologies for their own purposes. Of course the previous owner, Ford, tried to do the same thing but with very mixed results to say the least.
The observation is that since Sweden is one of the few economic successes on the Continent they may well be asked to pony up big Kroner to help prop up sundry EU economic catastrophes such as Spain and Greece.
