CNN: More graphic cigarette warnings proposed

If the health warnings were an effective way of stopping people from starting smoking/convincing them to quit, then no-one would smoke at all. In the UK cigarette packets look like an autopsy slideshow, but it's not stopping anyone buying them and smoking them.

If Governments were truly that concerned about the nations health and stopping people smoking then they'd ban cigarettes outright, make them a Class A drug or something, but then they'd have to say goodbye to all that lovely tax.

It looks like this first round concerns cigarettes, smoking and secondhand smoke.

It won't be until future rounds that the 'evils' of all tobacco are center stage.

In the meantime, as tobacco tax revenues diminish our politico pickpockets will
continue to raise taxes ... 'we're doing it for the children' don'tcha know.

Yeah I saw the proposed graphics last night on TV and they look like cute little cartoons compared to the packs in Malaysia and other countries, where they put cancerous, oozing sores and dead babies and shit on both sides. Really horrific shit.

Nah... the hip factor would be to switch to those packs with the coolest graphics.

death graphics on my pack, it would have made smoking even cooler. Its the
whole "I don't care" attitude that goes with teen smoking."

Just another marketing ploy under the guise of FDA stewardship!



Wanna bet some entrepreneur won't design cigarette pack covers with even more
outrageous graphics ... a new badge of honor for smokers to show off?
