Arizona SB 1070 Created for Private Prison Profit

    http://washingtonindependent.com/101...igration-bills

In May, The Geo Group had a conference call with investors. When asked about the bill, company executives made light of it, asking, “Did they have some legislation on immigration?” After company officials laughed, the company’s president, Wayne Calabrese, cut in.
“This is Wayne,” he said. “I can only believe the opportunities at the federal level are going to continue apace as a result of what’s happening. Those people coming across the border and getting caught are going to have to be detained and that for me, at least I think, there’s going to be enhanced opportunities for what we do.”

Joe, you are the biggest pro-establishment tool of all time. Really, watching blowhard pundits like Kieth Olberman? Hanging on their every word, fighting for the establishment and trying to keep the current gov in power? What a ****ing tool man. What's next, you gonna post "reefer madness" here? Your propaganda is so transparent. We do not love the government, we will not fight for the state, the hippies have won and you and the establishment have failed. End of story.

Stop those protestors joe, they are the enemy! America means shutting down the will of the people, they don't know what best for them!

Also, Lol @ kieth olberman for saying that cracking down on illegal immegration has "nothing to do" with securing the border.

They aren't remotely related sgreger you see when you come over the border to get a job that's illegal immigration, but if you bring drugs over that's smuggling two seperate problems. and the lobbying by the company well yeah that's obviously part of the law, that's how the country works, but the reason it's passed was people supported it.

There was a scandal in PA less than a year ago where a judge was getting kickbacks for sending minors to a private bootcamp type facility. It's not that it MIGHT happen, it HAS happened. Private prisons open the doors to way too much corruption.

I'll say it again, cracking down on illegal immegration and securing the border go hand in hand. There can be no secure border if on this side of the fence we do not enforce our immegration laws.

I do not understand why america is the only place in the world that thinks it is a bad thing to enforce their immegration laws?

But I think ending prohibition would do a lot to solve the problem. However, these criminals don't just go away, and they will either find a way to just set up legal distribution rings or move to some other type of crime, just like the mob did after prohibition was lifted.

Yah privatizing the prison system is a definite fail. I can see the economics behind it, but then it gives way too much incentive to imprison people. Anything where profit is involved means the market for that product will grow over time. When we are talking about imprisoning people, I don't think we want that market to grow, considering we are already in like the top 3 for imprisoning people.
