I still haven't heard what the Republicans want to do for the country. My biggest issue is middle class jobs, and I just don't think that the GOP gives a shit about the middle class. There have been several bills offering incentives for US businesses to hire US workers, and the Republicans have filibustered every one of them.

This is so true! It seems like the Republicans are primarily worried about fat cats and people with high incomes. The Democrats are primarily worried about you if your flat broke. There is nobody out there for the middle class. Both parties pretend to help the middle class but will easily sacrifice their needs if it will help the filthy rich or dirt poor.

I'm telling you, they are either working together or maybe it's just a side effect but it seems like their aim is to increase wage disparity, which is why it gets worse every year. In a nation where one party help the rich and one helps the poor, how can a mide class exis in the long run?


The reason I tend to side with republican ideals is that at least helping productive people who want to create wealth will have a somewhat positive outcome. Just giving free money to the poor doesn't actually help the poor at all, nor does it help the country become rich and productive (ie. A nice place to live)

I never plan on being poor because I refuse to let it happen, at least there is a chance I could be successful, which is why republicans normally get my vote, even though I know that they don't care about the middle class.

I don't think that the Democrats really care that much about the middle class but they do seem to do less damage to it than the Republicans do.

What pisses me off about the Republicrats is they talk a good libertarian game, but they only want liberty for people that believe exactly what they do. Want to smoke weed? We're not THAT kind of libertarian. I'll see you in jail. Want to build on your property? We're not THAT kind of libertarian either. You're free to build, but make sure you pay your bribe...er... permits first. Bottom line, the republicans are there to help people that want to make money, democrats want to give money to those who do not know how to make it. As I am of the "Teach a man to fish" ideology, this makes me lean to the right. Historically, getting educated, working hard, learning to play the system and diversifying yourself by doing things over and above just being an employee somewhere (like investing, owning a business etc) is what makes people successfull, this is who the republicans cater to. There are some who want to work at walmart and somehow enjoy the same lifestyle as a fortune 500 CEO, but as we all know, that is never going to happen no matter who you vote for. I'm just more on the side of keeping it real.

Learn to fish and you won't have to beg someone else to give you part of theirs. This is America people, there are lots of communist and socialist countries, but now and in the past they have done very little to help the middle class. Ask middle class communist china how they're doing. Or perhaps it does work some places, look at sweden or switzerland. But in a country this large, it doesn't seem to work too well.

It's hard to blame Obama for the mess we're in now. He inherited a shit sandwich, and had to find the best way to eat it. This has been the worst depression since the Great Depression, and make no mistake, despite all the sugar coating that politicians have tried to put on it, it is a depression. Generations have gone by without the knowledge of what it takes to fix a depression. We lucked out and got a world war the first time to pull us out. Now it takes something a little more subtle, and nobody really knows what to do. It's easy to blame Obama for trying to buy his way out of the depression(that Republicrats caused), but history may prove him right; or not. The truth is no one knows how to handle things at this point, and any guess is as good as another.
