    Moar Snuff...less snus?

So I've been hitting the snuff a little harder than the snus over the past week or so, to the point where I didn't use any snus today. I also only used about 15 pinches throughout the day of snuff with no cravings for snus. I went three hours at a time without a pinch at work, no problem. I had one pinch at lunch and one mid afternoon there. (Toque Blueberry)

Now, when I moved to snus from dip by way of smoking, I was doing it for health reasons and up until this week I chain snussed, keeping a pris in for about 1.5 hours at a clip all day long.

Today, I didn't even think of snus.

I kinda hope this is a phase and I'll work more snus back in to the rotation as I have a s***load of snus in the freezer, but, I also think I can quit snus and eventually tobacco if I keep this path. I also don't like to snuff at work.

Quitting all tobacco is the overall goal but I don't know if my brain is ready for that step.

I'm kinda running this ramble up the flag pole and seeing what everyone thinks on the matter. I know a couple people on here quit using tobacco by tapering off snus usage....

So your saying we have to use snus to quit cigarettes and snuff to quit snus?

When I started using snuff, my snus usage went way down. I have no desire to give up tobacco completely though - I enjoy it. Quitting smoking was my goal and that has been easily accomplished thanks to snus and snuff.

With my luck, I would get hooked on both and there would only be one cavity left to stick tobacco in.

Not at all, just how I feel about my current usage at the moment.

I don't expect anyone to quit but I haven't been feeling the need to keep a snus in constantly this week which is odd for me. I've been pretty dependent on nicotine for so long it was a shock being able to go for moderate stretches without.

I might have to give that a shot. I am very grateful to snus for helping me to quit smoking but I really would like to be off of nicotine eventually.

I find it really easy to stop snus....especially compared to cigs. Several times I have had to abstain from snus and snuff before medical procedures and it was a piece of cake quiting. I stopped up to a week with no jonesing or ill affects. So I'm thinkin that when the time comes that I feel I should quit snus that it won't be a problem at all.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I am not sure there is a good reason to give up nicotine completely. It seems to me that perhaps we are addicted to it because we really do need it..in other words we self-medicate. Only about 25% of people who ever use nicotine actually become addicted in any clinical sense. Occasional users are not addicted.. Just a thought.

I think snus, snuff, and even dip and chew, are easier to just quit than cigs.

I'm definitely addicted. Abstinence from cigs was unbearable but not so much from dip/snus. I went through a phase last fall were I pretty much converted to snuff totally. This lasted for a little while and then my schnoz went on strike. Allergy season for me is early winter through spring. Now I snus exclusively again for nicotine. I carry snuff for the times when I know I'll need to take the portion out in 30 minutes or so. I feel like I'll be wasting the snus so I take a few pinches instead. I go three or four hours w/o any tobacco routinely and today I'll spit this portion out in about ten minutes and not have another one until about 6:00 tonight. That will be 8 hours and I have absolutely no fear of anything. I'm cool with it...plus it'll make that next Grov portion feel like sex.

I gave up smoking cigs 19 years ago and never had another, I hated smoking (taste like crap) but I love the taste of tobacco. Found snus 10 years ago but my wife hates it, I’m very discreet with it and don’t spit into any cups or other receptacles I just eat the Los snus (it’s just plant material) GoVegan would be proud of me.

I love nasal snuff and would use it 100% except for work and you guessed it my wife hates that too but I’m a bad boy and may wind up in the Dog House from time to time and I continue to snus and snuff.

If I ever quit SNUS I will use SNUFF to do it.
Snuff is great but I never went into anykind of addictive pattern with it. I really want a snort right now but probably will forget and not remember I wanted one til next week.

I haven't used snuff in probably 3 weeks or so, but when I do I always have some snus in too. Lol
