I have allergies as well. I found that using American plain Scotches or English Toasts during pollen season will make my nose run at first but after a few pinches it really coats my nose (keeping the pollen out). This past year was very very mild allergy wise compared to others (note: other more coarsely ground or perfumed snuffs do not work the same) so hit the HDT and Tops plain when hey fever begins to set in and see if it does not help.

Thanks Dog. I'm pretty much doing that. In the winter I have a reaction to the exposure to plain old dust. Being inside more in the winter I can't avoid it. I found humidifying the air helps but not enough to snuff like I can in the summer. I neti and everything but it just doesn't work. That dreaded nasal spray (Afrin or other) works but then I'm chasing the dragon until I decide to stop using it. I try to avoid it all together. By spring this past year I was suckin' snus again like a mad man so I just waited until my nose cleared to even try it. Next spring I'll try the snuff barrier method for sure.
Snuffing outside is just pure pleasure.

According to my Mom, her Mother (from thomasville,nc) used to dip Railroad Mills Sweet. And like was said, spit in a old coffee can. Now a few months ago I bougt a small can of it and snuffed it. It hurt soooo bad..lol So now I'm thinking about dipping it to get some use out of it.. but it just seems too dry to dip. For some reason I think dip should be moist. Anyway I'm gonna give it a shot!

I've even mixed it in with some Probe (or some snus I had that I did not care much for). That was by far the best way to go about it. It is really just to fine and dry to pile in the mouth.
There is a reason dem ol gals used a bit of hickory stick to dip it with.

@deadohsky I sent a bunch of samples to another member here in San Antonio and he didn't even have to ask I'm not sure if I did him a favor now all he does is think about getting more snuff so be careful you might like it, consider yourself warned... Your local grocer usually carries some sort of American Scotch W.E. Garrett, Tops or something and they are real cheap for a small tin.
