    Snuff and nosebleeds?

Well I got my Toque order on Saturday between Saturday and Sunday I sampled all the flavors I received. I read these and other forums before trying snuff. So went in armed with basic snuffing knowledge. Overall the experience was enjoyable.

However I noticed this morning that after getting out of the hot shower I needed to blow my nose, and what I blew out surprised me. It was a combo of black tobacco mixed with dried blod clots.

I used the snuff what I would call moderately. Saturday I snuffed about 3 times and Sunday I snuffed 5 times spread out over the course of the day. I have read threads in forums where people claim to snuff every 20 or so minutes so basing my opinion off that I call what I did moderate. I also took care to blow my nose a few times as well between each snuff. Well I didn't take care, I actually HAD to blow my nose. But anyway.

I was careful not to get any snuff into my sinuses or into my throat, although the very first try on Saturday I got just a little into my sinuses (Boy Howdy!)

But interestingly enough even though I blew out some dried blood, my nose does not feel out of order in anyway. It might be the fact that we are having a bit of a heat wave and I have spent the last couple weeks hiding indoors hugging the air conditioner vent. But I am not concerned yet, just curious.

Do any of you more experienced snuffers ever get any blood clots or nosebleeds from snuff?

My first snuff was railroad mills sweet - american scotch. Yes my nose bled quite a bit. But then I am an amatuer.

Only few times I ever had nose bleeds was caused by the dryness. Blowing too hard caused a few as well come to think of it.

Same here. I've only had a bloody nose with snuff in the winter, but I've tended to get a bloody nose anyway as I've gotten older. I don't think I got my first bloody nose until I was about 30.

Texastorm sorry to hear about your nose, unfortunately you suffer from what long time snuffers call an un-seasoned nose (common to tender snuff newbies) which may also cause redness, soreness, irritation and tenderness in and around the nostrils and septum area. More than a day or two of using snuff will most certainly result in this condition. Your only resolution is to snuff copious amounts of the product which after a two to three week period will result in a seasoned nose condition and therefore allow you to continue snorting more copious amounts of snuff which will result in a euphoric sense of well being and great pleasure. After the first month you will begin to notice your ability to snuff anywhere and anytime you so desire, this is called being a habitual snuffer you will find yourself thinking only of your next opportunity to catch a blow (snuff your ass off). At this point it becomes apparent you are spending a fortune seeking out and purchasing snuff from as many sources as you can find, internet, local grocers, back alleys and seedy sides of town.

I once was a chef so I understand this is relation to seasoning a pan. Once it's seasoned it cooks a lot better. Good to know I only have hopeless addiction to snuffing in my future. If one must die, one should live well. Now about those back alleys... were they at? Ya know just in case I need a snuff fix and what not.
