Hedges screwed me up!! Maybe...

I just got a tin of Hedges snuff, which has a reputation of packing quite the menthol punch. I tried it one time and had no issues, it went to the front of my nose. So, about an hour later I noticed that I was getting really congested. Now, 2 days later I am still severly stuffed up! It could be a simple cold trying to come on but I will never be able to use this snuff again! I will forever associate this snuff with the horrible sensation of not being able to breathe through my nose! This really sucks, I wanted so much to like this snuff too! Boo hoo, poor me. . Anyone else experience this with specifically the Hedges snuff?

I haven't, but I don't use it much either. It's almost exclusively my snot making snuff I use before getting in the shower. It gets everything nice and loose, for a steam cleaning :^D

I hit this at night before bed and blow out my nose. Does tear up my eyes real bad but I actually enjoy that since I'm usually so depressed I can't cry real tears.

I pretty much only do menthol's early morning and late night. Occasionally mid day during the winter before stepping outside to get that refreshing blast.

I hadn't used Hedges for quite a while, and then was using it for the last week, and had horrible congestion. I'm addicted to Afrin though, so it comes and goes, but this was horrible. Haven't used any menthol snuff today, and little congestion. I use so many different snuffs, I wouldn't have thought to pin it on the Hedges, but I seem to remember other people complaining about this also. I'll have to give it a test tomorrow. I know O&G doesn't congest me, but the amount of Menthol in Hedges is on a whole 'nother level.

I just have to laugh when I read that folks are surprised about how badly a menthol can leave you congested. Been posting about that for a year, but folks just want to pretend otherwise sometimes.

I tried the Hedges about 1 1/2 hours ago, and while the typical blow your head off clearing affect occured, I got congested again. And a bloody nose. Admittedly, I did do a huge pinch. And I couldn't smell any other snuffs I tried afterwards. If you pay attention to the way Hedges affects you, that much menthol can't be good for you, as pleasent as the intense icing senstation is.

I woke up this morning with one nasal congested and directly took a hoot of Hedges, it cleaned me right up. I think it must only do this to people with sensitive sinus' that is my only thought.

D-I am sorry, if you want to get rid of the Hedges let me know, I will take it off your hands gladly

I was addicted to Vicks nasal spray, but once I started using nasal snuff I quit cold turkey on the nose spray. Odd. It really helps clear me up.

I use Hedges almost all of the time. I've never had an issue like that, occasionally I will get stuffy but its nothing a roll of tp and five minutes can't handle.

Every one is different though.

LOL, you just gave me a childhood flashback. I used to know this kid when I was like 12, that was so addicted to those vicks nasal sticks, he would ride his bike around with one plugged up in each nostril. It was SO funny to see. LOL, made my morning.

ROFL I wasn't that bad, but I had bottles of nasal spray hidden all over the house and slept with one in my pillow case. Proud to say there isn't one bottle in my house, car or purse! Now nasal snuff, different story

The masochistic side of me is making me want to try out some Hedges, hehe.

The only ones that seem to stuff me up a little are the Indian snuffs...even the She Cherry Menthol is starting to do that to me, and I love that stuff!

Once again, I am reminded after reading all the posts that different snuffs affect everyone differently. I can do almost all other menthols and never get the congestion that I got with Hedges. Even most Poschl's don't give me the dry, bloody, stuffed up nose! I was all better today and could breathe through both nostrils, so like an idiot I decided to try the Hedges again. I had to, this time was for research! It's been a few hours since using and just like the first time...horrible congestion!! Oh well, now I know, I can't handle Hedges and am extremely happy to have some Afrin on hand!

BTW - Anyone want a tin of Hedges? It's missing appx. 4 pinches. This stuff is the devil to me! It's either going in the trash or to a new home. First PM with your address gets it. Not gonna worry about s/h..just pay it forward someday when you get a snuff that disagrees with you.
