How do you snuff?

I know everyone is different when it comes to snus, some put a portion in under the lip, some pop it in the mouth and adjust, with los - some touch it, some don't touch it, etc.

How do you put your snuff in?

I have a tiny spoon that gets out a pea sized amount of snuff, and I put it on the webbing between my thumb and finger. When I first started, I just loosely put it on there and sniffed it. Not much luck with that. After reading "The Sage Method" on snuff, I've done it his way, and it's been perfect for me every time.

Step 1. Put the snuff on the webbing between your thumb and finger. I try to do it neatly, and keep it in a nice little pile.
Step 2. Take a deep breath. Like you would if you were taking a hit of.....yeah, you know.
Step 3. Inhale the snuff lightly, just like you were naturally breathing in.

Ever since he told me this, I've done it every time and it works PERFECTLY.

Also, how do you transport snuff? Original tins or bullets?

I keep mine in the original tins, and they go in my bag with my snus and now my pipes (for tobacco). I have a tiny, TINY spoon that gets out a pea sized amount of snuff (just about perfect), and I carry that with me. But, I can imagine as my collection grows I will more than likely invest in a bullet or two. Just for now, it's not something I do enough to keep bullets around.

My preferred method is pinching some out, or tapping some out, depending on the container, onto the back of my hand, and then do a sweeping sniff of it, one for each side.

I don't like bullets, because they are hard to control, all you can really do is sniff it up. But some like them.

I am using the bullets for convenience sake....I will have to try the "Sweeping Sniff approach to see if there is a noticable difference! The Wiz!

i tilt the bullet at a slight angle and snif from there i thought thats what your supppsed to do?

I use the acrylic and glass bullets from nicotine rush to hold and carry my snuff. I pour out some in a pile on the back of my hand, the webbing area between my thumb and forefinger, and sniff from there.

Back of the hand, 2 little appleseed sized piles. One for each nostril.

I used the back of the hand method when I started snuffing but pinch now. The snuff seems much more flavorful this way plus its easier & faster to do at work.

I'm greedy and just shovel it up!

I take as big a pinch as I can and push it up my nose gently rubbing it onto my septum while holding my breath or inhaling very gently.

Kinda new to snuff (as I think many of us are), but I usually take a pinch and sprinkle it in a line on my hand (i used to sniff other things in lines, so a bit of familiarity factors in here), from about the first knuckle on my thumb to the first knuckle on my index finger and sweep my nose over it while sniffing gently.

Depends on the nasal snuff I am using at the time for me.

Toque's - Due to being a semi fine (Think SP Extra), I usually make a pea sized pinch on the back of my hand. If I have a really clear nostril I take it lightly. If my nostril is a little stuffed, I take a nice sturdy whiff.

F&T Style - For more of a thicker snuff (Old Paris), I will take a big pinch and put the pinch right under my notril and sniff in while rubbing my fingers, one nostril at a time. Works great!

Toasts - I use a shovel like approach as mentioned above, although with smaller pinches. I put the pinch right up to my nostril, sniff gently while rubbing it against my septum.

Sometimes I feel inclinded to sniff it from a spoon. I found what I think is a baby spoon, and smaller would be better, but it works good enough, just spooning out the amount I want. The long end piece of an ink pen cap can work too.

I generally sniff from my thumbnail. Good coarse snuffs like Taxi I just put on my thumb and literally stuff the pile in my nose, no inhale needed. Well a bit just to keep it from falling out.

Perhaps I am lazy, or just an idiot but I can not 'properly' snuff or use los snus! For los, I can't handbake, I have to use my icetool. For snuff, I can't pinch and sniff, I have to use an automatik box to catapult the snuff into my nose. Maybe I am just paranoid about germs and don't want to touch the snus or snuff! Even with portions, there is not fluffing, flattening or folding, I just grab and throw one in and manipulate it with my tongue into the 'right' spot. Yea, germs, that's it.
