Nasal snuff

How the hell does someone 'dip' american nasal snuff? It's so fine and powdery and would just turn in to a turd of disgusting mud the second it hits your saliva..

My feelings exactly when I tried it. But to each their own. I'll stick to snus thank you.

If you took loose snus, and let it dry out completely, it would not be much different than Scotch Snuff in grind, maybe a bit coarser.

I have just surprised myself by dipping Toast and Marmalade and actually quite liked it (well it wasn’t that bad). I'm now going to try some of my other toasts.

I was out with my son on our bikes and we cycled past a hickory tree. I couldn't resist and took a small twig, striped the bark and chewed the end until it looked a little like a brush then just dipped it in.

This is not a call to arms, I am not advocating dipping, it was just a rather interesting experiment.

the old fashioned way was to chew a baccer stick till it was frayed out like a brush at the end, then dip this into your snuff and then rub on your gums.

other methods was to tip snuff into the lid then pour into your lip.

Some snuff such as scotch brands are moist enough to pinch like dip.

The stick method just seem good to me at all, and would result with a bunch of loose dry snuff in your mouth. I just tapped some into the lid, and then dropped it in the lower lip. I don't like to dip, as my lower teeth is the only area where my gum recession bothers me(it's not terrible, and had it before I ever tried oral tobacco), but I don't do it anymore.
