Glad to hear you're getting the hang of it!! My nicotinerush order came today, lot's of menthol flavors to try! I really like the look of the Poschl Ozona President tins. Nice on the nose as well.

My next order will be with Nicotinersh. I want to try Mr. Snuff's store too. So many folks swear by the mentholated I feel I need to give it a try. I too want to try some Poschl too.

I should get an idea of how long a 25g tin will last me. I am hoping to wait until I make my snus order Feb 1, but already I am finding i reach for the snuff with great frequency. :lol:

I'm already starting to feel like an old pro. I am SO grateful for the folks here who have gone ahead of me. TBD in particular helped me visualize what a good dose should be.

So far, I am loving it. Just need to make sure it doesn't put me on too mcu of a nicotine yo-yo effect. It definitely pushes my nicotine buttons too, which is exactly what i was looking for, now I just hope I can manage that.

I too want more snuff even after I know my cravings are satisfied... it's gotta be the quicker hits as opposed to snus.

my "routine" was pretty touch-n-go with snuff/snus together at first. I thought snuff for breakfast would be great, but unfortunately my craving for nic will be insane if I do that. so now I regular portion in the day, then snuff during the afternoon drowsiness, then strong portion at night. It's been lovely.

that's my only advice, snuff for me is best when I'm feeling exhausted and sleepy, snus is good for just simple satisfaction. I'm quickly differentiating whether it's snuff or snus when I "need something", . Pretty interesting how it could be so different.

Haven't opened anything yet, haven't had time, i really want to enjoy the experience. Anyway they sent me general white instead of the ettan white, I'm fine with it, as I'm giving my friend a can and since I already have a can of general white, it's easier to chose which one to gift.

I'm glad you got Nick & Johnny, Skruf Original, & Knox. All really solid examples of unflavored snus. the Oynx is a favorite of mine, but can be quite strong, especially for new folks. As for the flavors, you might love them all, hate them all, or anything in between. Flavored snus likes and dislikes are extremely personal, each person is different.

Just got an order from NicRush myself. Ordered early tuesday and received on friday. Great service and a free sample to boot. Thank you Tom. I ordered 5 different cherry snuffs and then a few other flavors. I even bought the "She" cherry snuff to try out. I just took a big hit of "She" and I can already feel my testicles shrinking up. I think that will be my last hit of that. :wink:

I had almost the same reaction except I was sure something fell off. I tried a couple more hits just to be sure. :lol:

One thing I have noticed when I first got my snuff, I was hitting it hard. Now that some of the novelty has worn off, I find I am much more mellow about it. I only take 2-3 sniffs an hour.

So I wanted to update after using snuff for about 3 days now.

First, I am so in love!! I absolutely love it. I have gotten comfortable with measuring doses, etc. What I have discovered is the true joy that nicotine can be. I feel like I can finally fine tune my nicotine dose at any moment when I want to. I was just watching videos Friday evening on my laptop, laying down, chilling, smoking some bud. And I was hitting the snuff pretty hard, and I swear the nicotine affect was almost recreational. It was literally making me feel kinda high, a bit like when I used to do crystal meth back in the late 80's. It was so cool. Snuff really does give me that fine control I have always dreamed of!!

So Friday, I found myself hitting it almost like a junkie. It was a bit concerning, as nicotine can certainly have a very powerful draw on me, i.e. my 2 pack a day, 20 year smoking habit. Finally, I popped a strong snus in, and that helped break the hold the snuff had on me. Did much less snuff yesterday, as I was curious what it would be like if I was less frequent with it, and never found myself too drawn to it. I suspect tonight will be another high snuff night.

I know I really need a few weeks before I can truly taste what I am using. So far, I have just tried the toffee and the Whiskey-Honey. I like both of them, but way too new to this to comment. As I do more exploring over the next few months, I will learn what I love. But I have liked what I have done so far. When I take the Whiskey-Honey, it's a little weird. The smell reminds me of something ancient, a smell from my childhood I can't place yet. But this whole aspect of it has me falling hard for the entire concept.

OK, so one problem with snuff I have already found. God, I make an utter mess on myself. Even when am paying attention, I spill a bit everywhere, and sometimes, I have spilled a bunch on myself. Whatever I am wearing will soon be covered with the leftovers of what I have spilled on myself and little brown spots everywhere. And my face?? LOL, I look like Pigpen sometimes. And I know now why Nicotinerush sells hankies. I am sneezing with some occasion, and I better have something to catch the brown nastiness that comes shooting out. :lol: :lol:

So due to the mess issue, I have decided I am just a bullet kinda guy!! I have heard some say the bullet dose isn't big enough. No problem!! I will just keep hitting it until I have the dose I want. I LIKE that kind of fine control. And it looks like a bullet will give me clean, complete control and will allow me to use in public with more confidence.

So I decided to order form Nicotinerush now. I ordered an acrylic 2 piece red bullet. Since I was getting that, I figured I might as well branch out and get a few from some of the other snuff houses. so...this is what I ordered.

So got some McChrystals, Dholakia, Poschl. What excites me even more is I am getting German, Indian, and American snuff too, In some ways, snus is a bit boring as it is really just a Swedish thing. Snuff is so much bigger!!

I also ordered a couple of smash boxes as the 25g tins are larger than I prefer to carry around.

Im glad you like it! in fact, probably a bit more than me, though I can't imagine being without it now.

Ok, here's how I get enough of a dose, waste very little, and have a clean nose:

I "pack" a tin of toque, by doing nothing more than tapping on the top of it. When it's opened, there's a clear "side" where the snuff falls off like a cliff. I take my forefinger and thumb and pinch the edge of that cliff- not so those fingers look like an "O" but more like a tear-drop. When I feel the amount pinched, I pull it out keeping my forefinger on bottom. I then "roll" my thumb off of my forefinger, leaving little snuff on my thumb, and a "line" of snuff on my forefinger. I inhale "all the way"(to where you would stop when breathing), then place the "line" up till my finger touches my nose, and sniff as lightly as possible. Very little it left on my nose, and I just wipe it lightly with my fingers.

Sneezing can be re-directed. If I feel a sneeze coming on, I can cocentrate and "cough-sneeze" instead, leaving my nose mostly unaffected.

If I get a runny nose, I blow it. normally I don't, so instead I leave snuff in untill I feel my nose dry out, then I pick it out(it now being in clumps) and wash my hands. I only snuff in the evening, so I just do this before bed.

I hope anyoen interested at least got some ideas from this.

I got my first order of snuff yesterday! Here is what I got:

1. McChrystals Original and Genuine
2. Toque Bourbon
3. Toque Whiskey and Honey
4. Poschl Gawith Apricot
5. Gawith Hogarth Kendel Brown

..and I still had my can of W.E. Garrett Scotch that I had not touched since my first night with it where I could have died from trying to use it.

Out of all of them, the Kendel Brown is my least favorite, but I would not dare throw any of them away. I know my tastes will mature and deepen, and an old back-shelfer may become a favorite later.

My current favorite is probably a tie between both Toque types. I also really enjoy the Apricot, but it makes my nose run a bit now a few minutes after I take a snuff of it.

I will say one thing. I just tried the W.E. Garrett again after a full day of trying my new acquires, and I loved it! I think it is a matter of having more of a feel for how to do snuff, and acclimating my nose to it. I did a pinch right after a pinch of the McChrystals O&G, and it did not have the same burn that it had my first try of it. Just a mild burning sensation that was quite nice.

Overall, I am loving it.

I bought a can of W.E. Garrett Sweet and Mild today. It's some pretty damned good stuff. I'm going to have to invest in some Scotches next month so I can REALLY crank up the nicotine level.

Good order. I haven't had Gawith Hoggarth's KB yet, but I like Samuel Gawith's ok. GH snuffs tend to be very perfumy, and dry. They aren't my favorite maker by a long shot, but sometimes their particular take on snuff is what I'm looking for.

Pöschl menthols do tend to make my nose run. I still like them though. I find they're very approachable.

I'm glad you're digging the snuff. It's fun due to all the different flavors available, and the experimentation's a blast :^)

So time for my snuff update...

So I too got my order from Nicotinerush on Saturday. To review, this is what I got...

This is in addition to the Toque Whiskey & Honey, Toffee, and Espresso I already had.

First, let me talk about bullets. I have read all the comments on Snuffhouse and know that most people don't like bullets, say the dose is too small. But after making an utter mess on myself, spilling snuff on me when i am laying down watching TV, having brown spots all over my shirt, having tobacco all over my face, I really thought a bullet was the way to go.

So I was so excited to get mine, that was really the major reason for my order. But the first time I tried it, I hated it. Everyone was right I thought. So disappointed, I filled two of my new smashboxes and headed out to run errands. An hour later, I discovered one of the smashboxes had opened in my pocket, no more snuff. So I decided to try the bullet one more time.

This time, I filled it with the Whiskey & Honey, as that was the one I was most familiar with and was better able to gauge dosage levels. This time, I fell in love with the bullet. Sure, I may use it a few times to get what I need out of it, but it is SO simple and clean. I find now that I have at least doubled, if not tripled my snuff usage, as I can just keep taking hits whenever I want, especially if I am in public. So count me as a bullet advocate.

The first snuff I tried is the Dholakia Swiss Chocolate. I liked this one And maybe the first snuff that tasted like what it says it is. I have only really just touched it, will use it all day tomorrow though.

I then did a bullet of the McChrystals S'nuff. Everyone seems to really rave about Menthol, so figured I needed to give it a try. Sad to say, it really isn't my favorite. It just isn't what I seem to be looking for with snuff. I did a bullet of the Poschl Ozona Cherry next, and same thing. I couldn't taste the Cherry, and am learning I don't much like Menthol at all. So I went back to the Whiskey & Honey, and OMG, this is just SO good!! Definitely become a standby for me.

I did just a taste of the Rooster Scotch Snuff next. interesting, I will probably play with it one night this week to see if I should take it to work with me. Yesterday, I did a bullet of the F.U.B.A.R. - Grunt Snuff, really good taste. I expect I will come to love it. But right now, I simply think it is stronger than I am ready for. A bit uncomfortable in my nose. Even a bullet dose is almost too much. I suspect, as my nose gets more acclimated, this WILL become a favorite. just not yet. After that, I returned to the Whiskey & Honey and all was good.

Everyone raves about the Toffee, but I just don't seem to get it. It was my first ever snuff, and I did a bullet of it yesterday. But I was so happy when I was done, as I just seem to like the Whiskey and honey so much better.

So what's next? I will keep using the Whiskey & Honey, with other snuff in between, until I find a second favorite. I will keep returning over the next 6 months to the menthol to see if I develop a taste for it. I expect to place one more order in the next few weeks, but probably only more Toque for right now. I want to try some of the fruit flavors. But so far, Toque has been my favorite, probably better suited for my newbie nose.

My favourite is McChrystal's Raspberry, but I spilled half the tin trying to open it one time...

I'm finding myself shying away from the Poschl stuff because it's too moist, I'm going to be ordering loads more McChrystal's and Wilson's of Sharrow snuff I think.

You should try the Toque Bourbon. I bought it off of a random review I read on snuffhouse.org, and it is great. It is tied for #1 in my book so far with the Whiskey and Honey. If you like the W&H, I am betting you will like the Bourbon. It is kind of like a heavier, more taste version of W&H.
