Wanting to try snuff?

You shouldn't. Every snuff order I've ever made have arrived regular mail, and within a ten days or less. What flavors are you looking at getting?

Personally, I think a good sampling would include Spanish Gem, Blueberry, Lime Toast, St. Clements, Original, a couple menthols, and whatever else strikes your fancy.

And you mean regular mail like by post office? Are you ordering from toquesnuff? that seems odd i didnt think you could send tobacco in the usps

Do you order that from toquesnuff.com directly or from somehwere like mrsnuff? I know my credit card will charge me 3% probably since it looks like toques native currency is either the pound or euro. But thats not a concern.

Order direct from touqe, MUCH cheaper than Mr Snuff! The Christmas Pdding is seasonal and avialable from October to about March I think so you may not get it, C&B is a toast so I would hold fire with it, also its not to everyones tastes, but I love it!

My last order was a couple months ago from mr. snuff. Of the snuffs you ordered, I've not tried chocolate, cheese n bacon, christmas pudding (which probably isn't available right now), peanut butter, or toffee. To be honest, they don't appeal to me, though the toffee may be okay. Of the others, I like vanilla okay, but I did not like champagne or expresso. The expresso reminded me of a discarded latte cup left in the car for a week. Of course, you may love those flavors, but if you don't, maybe you just need to try some other flavors. Personally, I think you ordered too many gimmicky flavors, but you know your tastes.

Probably true, but my very first snuff was W.E. Garrett sweet, followed by W.E. Garrett scotch. I learned to appreciate those snuffs within a few days of use (because I had nothing else yet to try), and toasts from Toque are a lot easier to take. And it really gives you a feeling of appreciating "real" snuff, as it was used in a bygone era when snuff was more widely used. I'll add, too, that it took me literally twelve months of of using snuff to really feel comfortable using it, so don't feel discouraged if it still hits the back of your throat or makes you cough after several weeks.

The German snuffs, from what I've tried, are very easy to take, but I have run into the problem of them making me feel stuffed up if I use them too much. The menthols in general can do that, but the German ones are worse. Poschl Apricot is a very popular snuff, and it's very, very nice, and I don't even like other apricot snuffs.

I know most of my choices are "gimmicky" but i feel thats how a lot of people start any tobacco before moving on to more "traditional" stuff. Me and all my friends that used to dip started with skoal vanilla or apple rather than Skoal Key or Cope. The gimmicky ones are described as easier to take and i feel a better starting experience, with all that being said im sure everyone is much more knowledgeable than someone who has never tried it. I look forward to trying about everything but for now a nice 10 can sampler for under 30 bucks sounds like a great place to start in case I just don't like snuff.

Just an update. I sent an email to toque yesterday asking about customs etc by shipping to the U.S. Roderick Lawrie got back to me immediately (i sent it last night when I assumed he would probably be waking up.) He said toque has never had anyone report any customs problems to them shipping in the u.s and that for awhile they sent some sort of list to some kind of department in the U.S because of some law they were following but the list always got sent back with the department saying they didnt know what to do with the list so they stopped doing it.

I like to put toque chocolate in my nose at the same time as the toque peanut butter. It's great that way. Of the two, I think the peanut butter is better. You'll enjoy those snuffs. I have only found one toque snuff with a grind that isn't the same as the rest: Berwick Brown. The rest are all a very similar grind. But that Roderick does awesome things with flavones and scents!

Camphor and Clove has a similar grind as Berwick Brown. I like Berwick Brown, but unfortunately, it causes irritation for me. And of course, the toasts are more finely ground, and I think SP Extra is a little more finely ground as well.

I like being loyal to Toque because of Roderick's commitment to his product and his customers, and his snuffs are all natural, as far as I know, with a focus on the lowest TSNA levels of any snuff. But still, there are really excellent snuffs by other manufacturers, so they make up a part of my rotation too.
