I wouldn't use Mr Snuff either as its a complete rip off! As you're in the US its one of the only options you have which sucks. If you're getting toque buy direct from them, much cheaper, also if you want an SP that doesn't dry out get Toque Original or SP Extra, both fine SPs and their tins keep the snuff fresh for a long, long time.
Where to begin with snuff?

You'll find the Best SP at Mr. Snuff as well as the Poschl Frosted linked to above. It's listed there as SP Best on page 3 of the Wilson's section.
Frosted has a good point about the finer snuffs being harder to take and drying out but it's well worth the effort to give them a try. They are not too hard to master with some practice. Make sure you store them properly to avoid them drying out. I would put Best SP at about a medium grind.
Snuff is quite a bit cheaper than dip or cigs, and snus for that matter. But it is a different animal as far as getting nicotine.

Originally posted by Skell18Toque's fruity snuffs are the best by a country mile IMO, for menthol, Hedges L260 or Poschl Red Bull are good, but any of the Wilsons menthols are good too, for florals, Fribourg & Treyer are spot on, I highly recommend F&T French Carotte or Wilsons version, Sam Gawith Kendal Brown is a good floral, for toasts F&T High Dry toast is epic as is toque natural or lime toast.
If I don't like snuff at all, I don't want to have a like $40 of unused snuff laying around
I was unaware that there were so many varieties. I thought snuff was a pretty dead area and assumed 1-2 company had a monoploy on it. Couldn't have been more wrong!

Im on it....W of S SP Best. Just my kind of thing. Anything else you got to offer? High nic here but not mandatory at all.
Originally posted by crullersIf you're interested in the history aspect of snuff, give Wilson's Best SP a try. I think it's the oldest surviving snuff and has been made the same since like the early 1700's. I just got some yesterday and I can't stop snuffing it. I'm sure it's going to be my next bulk buy.
The Toque 10 for 9 suggestion is a good one as well. Maybe try a bit of each style - fruity, floral, toast, menthol to get an idea of which style you prefer. And try Quit or Natural for plain tobacco snuff. Also, hold on to any empty tins - they are good for loading up with snuffs you purchase in larger quantities later.

Originally posted by Skell18Toque is good all around, all their stuff is good (except absinthe!!) Berwick Brown is their version of a Kendal Brown, so do the 10 for 9 deal from them as an entry into the snuff world, if it was me I would get, Berwick Brown, original, SP Extra, Rose, Violet, Peach, Strawberry, Blueberry, Natural, and then a fruity menthol or straight menthol if you want to try one. That will give you a good spectrum to work off, if any of the above don't take your fancy, sub them for spanish gem, cheese & bacon (its a must really) or vanilla, whisky and honey has many fans too but its based on a toast so not a brilliant beginner snuff.

....but ....and for fear of getting blasted by Skell for going on and on....because I can get tiresome about these things......do give Fribourg & Treyer Old Paris a go. I know it's personal choice and all but I've tried and binned a lot of snuffs but this is by far the easiest snuff to take. There might be the argument of personal choice about the aroma but as far as being easy to take is concerned there is no argument.
