I am curious. I have never tried any form of snuff. Snus...love that stuff
How much would the average snuff "dose" be? And how much would a snuff habit cost?
I'd recommend starting with Toque(www.toquesnuff.com). Besides being very popular, most of Toque's varieties are very easy to take. They're excellent for beginners. I'd start with the '10 for the price of 9' sampler of 10 gram cans. Just go through the list and grab a can of whatever sounds good to you.
As far as dosage, I just use the tried and true 'pinch straight from the can' method....a pinch of whatever fits in my thumb and forefinger in each nostril .
Snuff is pretty cheap and very cost-effective--although if you take to it, you'll end up with Snuff Acquisition Disorder like the rest of us Snuffheads.

Ok, sounds good lol!
But regarding how much it costs? Like does 20$ of snuff give you more nicotine per cent than 20$ of snuff

I wouldn't worry about how much it costs per dose - it's so cheap anyway.
He's right about the Toque - Toque is probably the only maker I'd try again apart from Fribourg and Treyers. I'd highly recommend Old Paris (F&T) as it's so easy to take and so good it's ridiculous....and I've been all around the houses with snuff.

+1 Oh! Hell Yeah! You have got to at least get Toque Spanish Gem... That snuff is addicting and the best of their line and very easy to take... You have to try Toque Spanish Gem then you will understand.... Nuff said...

If you're comparing snuff to snus, I can't really speak to nicotine content. Most of Toque's line is a 'medium' content, though they offer a couple of stronger varieties like 'Quit' and 'SP Extra'
$20 of snuff will probably not give you as much total nicotine as $20 of snus, but the snuff will last a hell of a lot longer.
It seems that most of us Snuffheads here use both snuff and snus in varying amounts..
The nice thing about snuff and its my favorite because of this, is it gives the same hit like taking a good drag off a ciggie. You really cant overdose easily. I do snuff in a session. From 3-4 sniffs in each nostril and i do a regular thumb and forfinger sized pinch too. On the courser grind kinda moist style ( not like Toque, dry and hits a little harder than courser kinda moist) I can do a session til its pretty much falling back out my nose. Hope this helps. You wont want to snort it. Sniff it gently but effectively or the powdery stuff will hit the backmof your throat and the courser moist stuff will too and that isnt the greatest. The graph shows snuff and ciggies with the same nicotine hit up to top and back down to bottom soon after unlike snus which is a slow rise and slow fall

Thanks for all the info!
I don't really care for cigs. More of a snus and occassional dip guy.
Ya I watched some youtube vids. I personally think tobacco sounds more satisfying in your lip, but everything is worth a try
@everyone else: Thanks for the responses! REgarding cancer risk, is snuff close to snus (pretty damn low)?
I'm a snuffhead too, and I echo the Toque suggestion. Most Poschls are great if you like menthol flavors....I personally like Red Bull in the mornings for a pick-me-up before coffee. But for those new to snuff it all depends on what scents you like.

That does seem to be the case, yes. Roderick Lawrie(founder and owner of Toque)posts here every now and again. He's mentioned several times that not a single snuffmaker(And Wilson's Of Sharrow, for instance, has been around since the early 1700's)has ever been named in a health lawsuit by a snuff user.
People have been sniffing tobacco dust for several hundred years now. So far, no one's nose has fallen off.
EDIT: By the way, if you decide to go with Toque, you absolutely MUST try Cheese And Bacon. Don't think about it. Just do it.
God made two kinds of dogs in this world. You are either a lap dog or a scent hound.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nasal Snuff. I hope you will find this Guide both helpful and informative. I have tried to pool together information and resources that I have collected over my time using snuff so that you can have them all in one place. ...
Some froum the snusform.com may recal that I tried to contact Rocker regarding certain snus' being discontinued... well, I never heard back from them,...
