    Bernard Offenbacher Cardinal

This is a nice snuff, and a great value. Dry, with a light sweetness, and a hint of basement in the initial scent. It's like a schmaltzer light, and good for all day use. Not too heavy, or cloying in flavor. I highly recommend it.

Bernard's becoming my favorite snuff maker. I'm partial to German styles anyway, and as I go through their catalog, I'm finding something for just about every mood. From plain tobacco, to menthol. I could use Bernard exclusively, though of course I wouldn't want to :^)

The only Bernard that I have at the moment is the Klostermischung.

It is fabulous...........full bodied and a straight dessert snus.

That said I have been looking at branching out more into the Bernard/Poschl schmaltzer offerings.

The Cardinal sounds like one that might make the next order

(but Lx.......Basement??..............is that like Livingroom but with deeper notes......... )
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Sort of old and dusty, but not in an unpleasant way :^D

The Gekachelter Virginie is excellent also. I'm still trying to get it figured out, but I dig it, and it's a great value also. I almost want to call it the German HDT, but that's not quite right. It's a dark snuff, and the smokiness is bolder, but not in your face. It's a darker smoke as opposed to HDTs buttery lightness. It's like a mellower Civette, and very easy to take. It doesn't require the care HDT does. You can just grab a pinch and sniff without worrying about it shooting to the back of your head.

I HIGHLY recommend both 50g Bernard varieties. I couldn't see anyone disliking them. They may not be a favorite of everyone, but they're unoffensive, and 50g of snuff for less than $10 is a bargain.

Count me a fan of Klostermischung. If a snuff can be described as warm and inviting then Klostermischung certainly is. The slightly lecherous monk on the package is a visual hoot besides.

          Christmas Snuff
          by lxskllr
Christmas time is upon us, and I thought I'd talk about something other than snus. I'm going to focus on Bernard Schnuphtobak.

Bernard has a new Christmas snuff this year, but I unfortunately haven't had it. I'm sure it meets Bernard's high standards though. It's called Weinachtpris, and has Bernard's typically stellar package graphics. Give it a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. ...
