    Bernard Wies n Snuff
    Sternecker Straubinger
How does Bernard compare with Poschl? Is it as moist and heavily mentholated?

I probably would have added a tin of Super Chetak and White Elephant.

The menthol generally isn't as strong as Pöschl. It's also easier on my nose for some reason. Bernard scents seem more natural to me, and a bit heavier in weight. I like Pöschl snuff a good bit, but I think Bernard blows them out of the water.

Civette is smoky, and plain, no menthol
Doppeilt Fermenteirt is a sweet schmaltzer, no menthol
Frichtennadel is pine scent with crisp menthol
Weis n Pris*(*snuff? I guess they changed the name) is spicy menthol
Polar Prise is smokey tobacco, and menthol
            Zweifacher is slightly fruity menthol
Amostrihna is spicy menthol with camphor

I think I will give that a shot! I don't like menthols a lot, but have a bit of Ozona President and a full box of Hedges L260 left to use when I'm sick. Menthol makes my nose run like crazy... but Toques might be different!

I second l's list but would like to add

              Bernard Klostermung.....has a chocolately scent I dig

Also, all of the sterneckers are fantastic.

And, in a non german snuffs try the Samuel Gawith KB snuffs. Man snuff right there. ;-)
I'm really anxious to try the blueberry! Sounds totally awesome! Not an everyday snuff perhaps (straight tobacco flavored or subtle non-sickening and sweet flavors I think is the best ones for daily use), but who knows, maybe it will be! Thanks a lot for the great tips. I will check back on this thread when I make my next order.

I second the toss in of a German snuff.............you also can't go wrong with Molens (Dutch Windmills) snuff. Most folks start with either the A/O or A/P but I would encourage you to begin with something like Gingerbread, Mettaijer, or Macuba......then work the A/O and A/P in at a later date.

The A/O and A/P are great but very rich and stout......not all day snuffs IMHO
Hell, I forgot about Molens too! I've heard a lot of good things about those. Thanks a lot for the tips as well! Will be my next order.

Man, the Grunt is one of the snuffs I've been dying to try. Sadly, Mrsnuff hasn't had it in stock for a few months now. I hope I can throw some in for my next order before they run out of it again. Also I got my first order with the coffee bite, and I love that stuff! One of my favorites so far. My order is spot on? That's great to hear! Thanks!

Noted! Will look in to those as I haven't heard much about them and perhaps order them next time! Thank you for the tips!

I ordered Bernard Civette Extrafein and Bernard Polar Prise. If I like, I'll try some more of their snuffs, because the descriptions certainly look intriguing. Thanks for the recommendation!

Those are both very good, especially the Civette, but if you don't like them, give the Doppielt Fermentiert a try on a future order. That's nothing like the two you ordered, and is worth a try.

lxskllr, the Civette is pretty good. I like it, for something different from time to time. It reminds me of rum-dipped cigar tobacco with a smokey flavor. I tried the Polar Prise. It's a little strong on the menthol, but I think it was trying the various German menthols that made me really stuffed up, so I'm laying off of those for the time being. As a side note I've decided I will never use any type of Kendal Brown again. I used it several times before work and a few times at work and I could feel this irritating sensation in my nasal passages like I'd been snuffing ragweed and for the next few days it got worse and nothing would make it go away. I finally just snuffed a bunch of St. Clements up each nostril and that actually helped. Togue's Berwick Brown irritates my nose as well. I guess because it's so coarse...?

Hard to say. Snuff is funny, and it can irritate for no obvious reason. I'm not sure what makes a brown a brown; It's /that/ taste. I don't know what that taste is, but Berwick Brown, and the Kendals have it. Maybe that's bothering your nose.

                        Third order

Just made my third order after I heard FUBAR Grunt (along with lots of others) were back in stock. It's so cheap, and such a fun hobby that I couldn't wait.Does it look good? The Gawith Apricot is a freebie for liking their Facebook site, and the Dholakhia White I just want to try because of the nicotine. I want to see if I can cut down my snus usage as it is getting expensive. I added some Molens and Bernards as well because I've heard they're frickin' awesome. And of course, the FUBAR Grunt, which I have wanted to order since I first heard about it.

I'm not familiar with those Dholakia snuffs, but the rest are absolute first class. I'd consider them must-tries to any snuffer.

Fantastic! I love the Wow! Coffee Bite, so I'm sure I'll like the other ones as well. I've heard Dholakia White is a very evil snuff (dry as the dust of dust), but strong as hell. So I figured, heck, why not!

How is the Zwiefacher? Is it coarse? I got a sample of F&T Santo Domingo from Monkey, and to me, it's too course. Feels very wierd in my nose - like snuffing loose snus. Is the Bernards that way as well? I haven't taken the Santo Domingo in a few weeks now, and have tried a lot of snuffs since I last got my order, so I might have a different opinion about the grind now.

Zwiefacher is kind of medium, and moist. I tap it out on the back of my hand, and mush it down with the corner of the box to break up any lumps. Bernard snuffs tend to chunk up, and you'll sniff it up, and it'll fall out of your nose :^D It's not that the pieces are big, they just stick together more.
