snuff or seasonal allergy?

I am allergic to dander. As long as I stay full of snuff I am cool.

There is something elastic I am allergic to that ****s up my nose from the end of September to the middle of Novemberish here I like FL. Snuff does not help me except to provide drainage. Before bed I hit a toast or something that I know will dry me up and I am cool. Find something that dries out your nose and see how that helps.

I also pop a snus before I pass out so I don't wake up on the middle of the night looking for nicotine.

If I take snuff late at night, I'll sometimes wake in the morning with a bit of head cold feeling; like I'm getting sick. That goes away fast though, and I'm feeling fine within 15 minutes. Since you have sinus issues anyway, maybe it's affecting you more.

Anecdotally, I've heard that snuffing helps some with allergies. I can't confirm, as I'm not allergic to anything.

Prior to starting snuff I was having a problem with seasonal allergies. Rag weed is abundant in Louisiana at the moment....

In any case, during the day I will have a little sinus drainage depending on the snuff. At night I use a neti pot about an hour before bed and give the nose a good cleaning.

The real problem in that around 3 AM the nose faucet turns on! To the extent that I am loosing significant sleep.

I'll get up and take a pill for it and may be able to get back to sleep. One night I tried a medicated snuff and it actually put an end to the problem for that night. Another night the results were not quite as good.

Yesterday I took a good bit less snuff through the day and the sinus drainage started at 1 AM!!! Today, just to see I will be snuffless but not snusless

My question is does snuff does this to any of you....cause massive drainage 6 or so hours after your last sniff?

I am hoping the answer is no but your experiences will help me understand if this is just the allergies or the snuff. Allergies have done this to me before but not this bad in the past few years.
