again there are plenty of well versed snuff takers here and a whole section devoted to it. http://www.snuson.com/forum/forumdis...sal-Snuff-Talk And i never said don't go to snuffhouse just said I think it is a bunch of guys who don't like to have fun, think I called them prudes... anyways like I said this is nothing personal and I thin the OP is a grown up who can make his own choices. I know not very Republican/democrat of me..... It is what I am.......
Got my first can of snuff, have a few questions.

I like snuffhouse there is a good bunch of folks there. The "out of context" page is pure gold. But may god have mercy on your soul if you start a thread that remotely resembles something that's been covered before. But in a nutshell it's a great community. I venture there every now and again for a brief review of topics etc, but snuson is my home where I can be myself.

I don't endorse SnuffHouse at all. They have some useful information, but it isn't worth dealing with regime to get it. Everyone's been beaten into submission, and the board moves slower than mole asses in the Maine winter.
Anyone deciding to check it out, better watch their step; pitfalls abound....

Ok, i'm just going to have to check out Snuffhouse now after this whole exchange
.
I did read through the beginners guide to snuff on this fine forum. The info there was enough to get me intrigued and informed enough to get me started, which most of the time is all i need with anything i decide to get into.
I'm really not into menthol that much and can see how it would get old in a hurry. This can i got said absolutely nothing about menthol which is why i asked that question. Toque has a lot of flavors that really intrigue me, cheese and bacon being one of them. I read a lot on this forum about the Spanish Gem and Lime Toast. so they will be in the initial order too.
As for my method, i went and watched some youtube videos, some of them were lame, some really good. It's not too hard to figure out, but if i can avoid doing the wrong thing from the beginning that's a good thing. Most important thing i found out was to "smell not snort" and go for the front of the nose more than the back. This has helped me avoid that back of the throat mess that i used to get when sniffing errrr ..... other nasal products many years ago. Bullets to me are like Icetools, look cool and are convenient but not necessary. Main difference being the price, i can afford a bullet
If i get a slow day at work i'll report back tonight on snuffhouse.

lxskllr may be right ... compared to snuson, snuffhouse does move rather slowly ... but lincoln is right, as a reference site for snuff ... hands down fantastic. there is good info to be found everywhere ... re: snus, snuff, pipes, etc. ... depending on the site. it's your choice to stay or go. i am with eric and lincoln though, i like the site and have learned a ton.Originally posted by lxskllr View PostListen closely when you go there, and you'll hear the clock. they do moderate ... which to some, isn't a bad thing ... to others, clearly it rubs them the wrong way. but the moderators just want to stay on topic ... and honestly, their personalities and the discussions aren't as rigid as one would believe after reading this thread, everyone there is awesome, near as i can tell. and depending upon your perspective, it is either fascinating ... or "what else is there to know", like bb1 says ... it's tobacco, you snuff it, move on.
but, from my perspective, snuff has a lot to be discussed ... the aromas/flavors are all unique ... and the history of snuff is what got us to snus. so, for that alone, snuff is worthy. snuff and snus go hand in hand. and, like you, i am glad i found it along with snus. both have helped against my battle with cigs.

I actually went to a talk with the creator of Vega, Brendan Fraser. He was at Whole Foods in Santa Rosa and they were giving away lots of samples. I like Vega but those shakes can be even more expensive than a meal so I rarely buy them. Shakes, no matter how good they are, will never satisfy more than a meal.Originally posted by ABW View PostIt's hot here but looks like it's getting hotter in here soooo.. Go vegan, have you tried vega protein drinks? I love that stuff...

I can't recommend Toque highly enough, especially for beginners. Nearly all of their snuff is very easy to use, even most of the toasts. The fruit menthols are all good--Blueberry Menthol being my favorite of the three. I'd suggest the 10g sampler to start with---good sample size, and you get to try a lot of different snuffs that way. Spanish Gem is a good one, and Lime Toast is one I try to never be without, although as a beginner I would recommend putting that one in the back for a little bit, and get at least one other 'toast' to start with---and for that, I would recommend either Whisky and Honey, or Toast and Marmalade. Generally, since they are drier, you'll want to sniff a bit more easily than you would with another type of snuff.Originally posted by teeoteeWhile on my latest snus run i tried out a new store. While there i noticed they had quite a few different kinds of snuff. I picked up a can of Dean Swift Raspberry. Have to say so far, i'm really digging the snuff thing.
One question is, the can i have is more mentholated than i thought it would be, are they all like that?
So how often does everyone take a pinch? I've been trying not to pinch too often but it is very enjoyable and i like the quick hit. I could see me easily getting carried away with a flavor i really like.
Is it worth getting a bullet? So far i've been managing pretty well just using the back of my hand or holding the pinch between my finger and thumb and sniffing that way. I'm going to order the Toque snuff 10 can deal soon so was thinking could order a bullet while on the site.
Ok thanks for reading, i'm definitely going to give snuff a good try out. It really fills that little gap that snus leaves and has me thinking of cigarettes occasionally.
Oh, and try one of the florals, as well. I like Violet a lot. And Rose.
And both Toffee and Vanilla are very nice with coffee in the morning.
I also like Wilson's of Sharrow quite a bit, but then I tend to be very partial to English snuffs on the whole.

Im very keen on snuff and agree with everything that has been said on this thread about snuffhouse. Its very useful for information but it is full of snobs. I got banned for writing one curse word and not having the best gramar. Got an email sent to me and everything telling me how it was a gentlemans site and that the f word wouldnt be tolerated. Not very gentlemanly to make remarks on someone elses gramar now is it? I wrote pnemoina but i meant amonia......big deal huh? Yea they do shut down threads just out of the blue, they had the "no eu to eu snus sales" and one guy took the liberty to email northerner and it got closed.
