Quitting Snuff

I came to the point...... that I can't tolerate snuff anymore..... I guess I am alergic to it ..........

I kinda' enjoy snuff and wasn't a heavy snuff user either............. I think it's mainly due to my sinusitis and snuff only worsens it............... I get head pressure ...... hot flushes around the neck and face....... somethings gotta' have to do with snuff..... it only happens when I take snuff.........

I'll probably be taking one or two pinches now and then but not daily anymore.........

Have you tried non-menthol snuffs? Another great tip is get yourself a neti-pot not just for snuff users it's great for sinus problems. Google neti-pot.

Hey toquesnuff,

I have heard that menthol snuffs are better for people with sinus issues........... for some reason those are the ones that are irritating me the most.

I can tolerate snuff better but when I'm not on a sinus flare-up............ and usually spring is the worst period for me.

Thanks for recommending the neti-pot .. I'll look into it ....... saw it before and actually have a "home-made" one but I'll need a special solution to use with it........

true - this also helps clear out pollen, dirt, etc. for those with allergies ... it's a little wild at first, but you get use to it.

I think the Menthol is irritating you.
Try some non mentholated ones.
Menthol snuffs clear out my sinuses, but for some people it stuffs them up.
I've been looking at getting a neti-pot, but I honestly don't use snuff all that often.

sometimes I sit with the dolakia swiss chocolate, toque rose, toque cheese and bacon right on my desk and I feel like stuffing my nose up with them (that's how much I like the flavors) .......... but for some reason it worsens my sinuses...........

I will take ocassional pinches and only place the snuff gently in my nostril without inhaling any of it ......

Try dholakia black, it will make your nose run and will clear it out pretty well, just blow it out before it dries up. Also the neti pot is definitely good to have, I have one for when I get colds, though I have never used it to wash out old snuff, which sounds like a good idea actually.
