By no means is this a complaint. I noticed my Toque was clumpy and strongly scented with an ammonia scent. I have taken to letting it air out in shorts shifts and the flavor is coming around and it's drying up a little. Would a light spray of vodka help it out any texture/flavor wise?

Don't worry about the Ammonia aroma, that’s a natural smell from very fresh snuff and it will clear with a couple of hours’ exposure to air. A lot of people who have previously bought their snuff from shops where the snuff may have sat for a long time are quite surprised how really fresh snuff smells.

Don't mix any liquid or it will clump more. The clumping is again due to fresh snuff. Just pick up a clump between your forefinger and thumb and snuff it. You'll then see it's perfect.

Remember the bigger the pinch, the less you sneeze.

That means that it is super fresh. I absolutely love that smell, it will waft out of the package when you receive it and you know you have fresh snuff. Once it drys out it will hit your throat if you don't sniff carefully. I for one do not like the snuff very much after it dries out, I store it in a mini humidor to keep it moist and delicious.

Some snuffs are meant to be dry, but toque is its best when you first get it in the mail and it has that moist ammonia smell to it, once you get into using snuff alot, you will learn to love that smell.




@Roderick- I talked to my postmaster about the missing package, told him its should have been in a while ago, he went and 'checked' the mail room in the back but didn't find anything. Maybe it got lost in the mail, would not doubt it as the postal service in my area is pretty shoddy. I will send you an email through your website later on when I get the time.

Due to a checkered past, I was try to inhale as hard as I could, resulting in fits of couching on a occasion and a mouth full snuff. But just this morning I discovered the long, slow, gentle draw allowing for a much more fulfilling experience, and a better study of flavor. Wow.

What a great feeling to open it up and see that you have 18 flavors and varieties of snuff to choose from! Also, I think I have figured out the RIGHT way to snuff. Due to a checkered past, I was try to inhale as hard as I could, resulting in fits of couching on a occasion and a mouth full snuff. But just this morning I discovered the long, slow, gentle draw allowing for a much more fulfilling experience, and a better study of flavor. Wow.

Looking to place my first order of snuff tonight, I was wondering if all these customs problems have been resolved, or if any distributor has not had problems recently (in the past few weeks). I'm looking at ordering from either Mr.Snuff or Toque directly, although ordering from Toque I would be limited in the selection. Again this will be my first experience with snuff, and hopefully a good one. If Mr.Snuff has been alright with shipping recently, I definitely want to try Hedges as I quite like menthol. I've read the nasal snuff sticky and it seems a bit scattered. Also any suggestions on particular flavors I must try would be appreciated!

Well I was just looking to sample a few different varieties, or in Toque's case maybe get the 10 pack 10g sample, basically to get a feel for different varieties and see if I like snuffing as I have never tried it before. I suppose around $25-30 depending on shipping.
