Whats up with these new tins? Bought one 3-4 weeks ago and it was normal, and now they're like the one in the OP with warnings on the lid.

Well.. I've never really done dip... maybe 3 or 4 times, and did not enjoy it. I bought a can of this Copenhagen Sraight Long Cut last night. Didnt even try it till I was into a least a 6-pack cause I was scared too. Smelled really sweet and tasted really sweet, but not in a bad way. I enjoyed it.
So while at work today, I was looking forward to another taste when I got home. So bear in mind im 100% sober, and this tasted awful... really really awful....
I'm about a 6-pack in again, and just tried it for the 3rd time..... tastes like heaven.......

I thought it was great right away and sober. I like the original snuff, and the original long cut, and the new natrual elc too. I don't care for wintergreen tobacco.

My favorite dip - bar none. Got a big ol' fat lip of it in right now, actually. If it weren't for my job being at a grocery store and dipping being extremely inconvienient for me there I could live off this stuff.

The one thing I dont get, we have stocked 'Cope' Long cut straight for many years. Whats the difference? Besides the Cope has a plastic tin, and the new Copenhagen Straight has still the cardboard ones?

Couldnt of been. I am staring at a brand new roll of 'Cope' LC Straight, with the new warning labels on the front. And a roll of the other new Copenhagen, both with warning labels.

Well, I see on the Wiki, it says its supposed to replace it. I just dont see why they made all new cans for 'Cope' Straight, if its just gonna go away. The new can lids look JUST like the new Copenhagen LC straight ones, except just says Cope. Doesnt have that bronze thick ring around it like the old Cope cans. But still has the new warning label. If I wasnt at work, id snag a picture of both. So you could see. Plastic cans are much better IMO

EDIT, it does have that bronze ring, its in the roll still, I couldnt see. But still, new lids with warning labels only for it to get discontinued?

Well, I have heard/read that "Cope" is discontinued. And the "Cope" line is not mentioned on their website at all. Plus they recently made the new Copenhagen Straight LC, and I have some coupons that show a pic of every kind, but no "Cope". So, I have to believe it's been discontinued.

If you have a roll of "Cope" branded, what's the date on it?

Well, I just saw on SMpost, someone bought a "new" "Cope Straight", and posted some pics. So, I believe you, and it is odd.

Yeah, its a roll of Cope, with the plastic tins and metal top with the enlarged warning label on it. Doesnt have a date like the other copenhagen does, it says "26/10" Then below that "RMB02244M"

Wonder if there is a taste difference, there sure is a difference in price.

Here in WI its 6.19 for Cope LC Straight, 4.19 Copenhagen LC Straight
