I have a thunder frosted loose snus and the best before is over one month. Is this snus old or something? I have portion thunder to but them taste are not the same.

Most of my freezer stock is over a year out of date, a month is fine! I'd say a loose will always taste better than a portion, but i would say that, i love my loose

I'm using a can of Skruf Stark Lös at the moment that's best before July 2011 and has never left the fridge.
Last week I was using a can of Ettan Lös that was also kept in the fridge, not the freezer (best before March 2011).
As for me, the recent developments regarding the EU-Snus Ban have led to strange consumption patterns. I'm sure others also are hoarding, rationalising their last Swedish Match cans and trying out many new brands to find alternatives.
The best before dates are to a great extent a marketing gag, introduced by a certain manufacturer who is big enough to supply every corner shop in Sweden with fridges. Snus is tobacco after all and thereby quite poisonous to germs. Also, the artificial flavorings are very long-living. I've never had a problem with snus that was kept in the fridge, no matter how long overdue it was.
Besides of that, most of my snus is now in the freezer. It's not a bad idea at all to keep snus as fresh as possible, but the best before date REALLY IS a best before date, indicating that the taste could get a little flatter, not an expiration date indicating that it could be dangerous to use the snus afterwards. Just trust your tastebuds to determine if your snus is too old or still useable.
