For those of you that live in "banned" states.....this is an opportunity for us to get snus in brick and mortar's for your area. Yeah it sucks that we cannot sell via the web store, but we're doing what we can to work on that. No promises or guarantees that we will ever be able to sell online in those states, as their law prohibits it. Just know that we're working on solutions to provide our customers an outlet to purchase snus, whether it be online or in person.

If you live in Iowa, Mass. or South Dakota (do we have someone from SD?) and you know a brick and mortar store that would be willing to speak with me about carrying snus in their establishment, get the contact info and PM it to me. I will contact them post haste and try and set something up. Thanks!

Isn't JT making snus out of pipe tobacco?
I tried one batch using Mac Baren's Virginia #1 pipe tobacco and it was a miserable failure. (probably because it had too much glycerine)

Don't know what the deal is in the other states, but it seems like
there's really only one obstacle in Taxachusetts (yeah right!!)...

Mass. law states that a web shop must also have a brick and mortar store of the same name within the state lines, before selling online.
Is this the height of political deviousness, or what!!

So -- how do Amazon, QVC, etc, get away with it -- they don't have B&Ms?

They don't sell tobacco products. That being said, we're working on solutions for these states. I should have more information concerning these three states soon, and when I do...I'll pass it along.

                        Or this?

May a delivery business receive a cigarette or tobacco retail permit?
No. For the following reasons: 1) each place where the business of cigarette and tobacco sales are made must be licensed. It is clear that the permits are issued on a location basis not on a corporate ownership basis. That is why each Hy-Vee store and Kum and Go convenience store has it own permit. It is impossible to issue a permit for every location where the delivery company would transact business. The regulated part of the transaction is not the ordering of the cigarettes or tobacco, it is the delivery. This is where age verification and making sure the proper stamps are affixed become the issue; 2) Delivery sales are not conducive to conducting compliance checks geared toward minimizing sales to youth. Businesses operating out of a specific location are subject to unannounced compliance checks at any time. This is important in a highly regulated business such as cigarette and tobacco sales; 3) it is also important for the Department of Revenue to be able to check to make sure the retailer is in compliance with Iowa tax law. Meeting someone at a storage facility by appointment does not provide the Department with the opportunity for adequate oversight of the retail permit holders; and finally 4) the Iowa Retail Cigarette/Tobacco Permit application form (70-014a) lists only two types of sales. The two types of sales allowed at retail are a) vending machines (in very limited adult only areas) and b) over the counter sales. Delivery sales are neither of these. Retail permits should not be issued to delivery businesses. Cities or Counties with questions regarding this policy should contact Matt Gannon (515) 281-6709 at the Iowa Attorney General’s office.

I can relay to states that are banned. This is 100% legal person to person under the new laws, so no need to worry about anything.
Just PM me if you need help.

Bigblue1 said :"I am not gonna subject myself to any more gubment bullshit than I have to. I really don't feel like being disappeared."

That has to be one of the most honest and depressing statements I've read in a long time. Hey it's just your snus recently, but it's happened many times before, and will happen many times in the future if you don't keep the bastards in DC honest.

justintempler sig: "How much loose SNUS can a moose on the loose SNUS if a moose could SNUS loose SNUS"

Well, there was an ongoing competition between Alaskan and Canadian moose to determine the answer to this age-old question. Unfortunately the Alaskan moose have been forced to drop out of the competition due to increased Pact-Act costs. We're still waiting to hear the conclusion from the Canadian moose.

So all the affected states' tobacco laws have the same restrictions
about having a brick and mortar store of the same name within
the state lines before selling online? [that dispels the notion
that good things come in threes ]
                                Hell of a coincidence!!
