How much does a tin of General cost where you live?

33 dkk today in Copenhagen - it costed 12,5 dkk when I started some well 10 years ago! that was times......always bought 20 - 25 cans every first day in the month.......that is one of the best memories I remember from my student days, not because it was pay day and I was a student, but because the look of 25 cans in the fridge is a really nice sight! :wink:

I live in the EU so pay Swedish Tobacco Tax and EU Tax and a delivery charge.

So it adds up. It is not cost effective to order 1 can at a time. So I bulk order.

My last order of 10 cans averaged 6.70$ including delivery and taxes that is £4.35. A pack of cigarettes here is £6. So it is still good value to purchase snus.

I am paying 4.50 for los general and 4.95 for portions. Not a bad deal when in a pinch. Still wish Swedish Match would release more than general branded products, or at least general ekstra sterk

Last time I bought some General WP at my nearest cigar store, they cost $6 per can including tax, but that was back in '08.

I just found a store in Hudson, nh called Ayottes that sells a tin of general for $3.99! I think that is a great price in the states!

In Cincinnati, a can of General Portion is $5.49 after rax.

If you purchase two rolls of General Portion from GetSnus, the cans end up being exactly $2.80 each. That's quite a discount (-$2.69) in my opinion.

I met a guy from Finland and he couldn't believe how cheap snus was in America. I think the government of Norway should tax snus significantly less than cigarettes. This would encourage people to switch, saving the government a large amount of money in the long run.

No it wouldn't. Do you know how much stuff is funded by cigarette taxes?

I wish everyone would quit using tobacco, or at least buying taxed tobacco. It would be funny to see the local governments turn into California.

General Price

In the Knoxville area the one store that sells General snus is around $2.85 I quit ordering when he got his General acct. Although I still order the stuff I can't get from him.

Here in Houston, Tx I found the prices hovering around $5-5.50.

$7.99 in downtown Seattle. Never purchased one.

I just found a tobacco shop up on Broadway with a mostly empty General refrigerator. It had a few cans of General Los that expired in January, and some new cans of full-sized General Mint, along with counter-top cardboard display giving out free mints sampler packets. 5.99 for a can, much better than the 7.99 downtown. The manager wasn't in, so I may go back and chat. When PACT goes through it would be nice if all the local snusers could concentrate on a shop to get them to stock as much variety as possible.

There's a shop in Marietta, GA that stocks General. I went there a few months ago and their selection was kinda bare. Went back today and it was somewhat bare again, except that there were a few cans of Loose that they didn't have the last time (best by date was last month, but still tasty). $4.50 per can, not as good as online but still beats the hell out of buying a pack or two of cigs a day like I used to.

Sadly they didn't have any of the new mint. I kinda wanted to buy a can. I was able to get my first can of loose though, and that's not bad... not bad at all.
