    Lös :^/

Well, so far I've had the Ettan, and I just got some Landströms today, and I just don't get it. I have a hard time tasting the lös. I leave it in for awhile, but the flavors too subtle for the mess it creates. My favorite part of lös is when I take it out. It leaves little bits of tobacco in my mouth, and I can finally taste it LoL. Maybe I should carry a little spoon around and just eat little bits of snus every so often :P .

I have some Gellivare coming in the next day or so, but I'm not really expecting much from that. I'll probably get the occasional can of lös for traditions sake, but I really don't understand everybody's enthusiasm for it.

i like it because of the fact the flavor is more pronounced. or perhaps it is more 'natural'...as with it being in portions it tastes sort of strange to me.
also you can get a really badass buzz if you put a big wad of it in.

however sometimes the flavor subsides because my mouth has too much of it...it gets 'overload' or something and cannot distinguish the flavor anymore because it has been in my mouth for so long..and possibly the salivation is cancelling it out.
i usually also take it out after the flavor has become rather neutral, and mush it up quite a bit with my fingers to reform the pris. that way the 'more fresh' core of the original pris is exposed and reveals more flavor/nicotine. sometimes that doesn't work if your hands have anything that can possibly adulterate the taste.

It's very subtle at first, but keep at it. You'll gradually over the next few days come to detect the flavor more and more until you get to the point that I'm at where a pris of GR is a flavor explosion. It's an acquired taste, literally.

Well when I first did snus, that was what I had to realize, that it was not to be confused with dip...which are all flavor explosions (can be a bad thing)

I got to the point very quickly that I liked the flavors in los snus, even if they were subtle. GR was most definitely a flavor explosion when I first tried it.
now it's not so much. sort of strange. maybe it's because it tasted better when I first opened the can and after having opened the can over a period of a few weeks (i'm using a bunch of other snus at the moment), the freshness has withered. and now it's not the same taste nor intensity as it once was.

I think a lot of it has to do with the way I use snus. I don't put a portion in and let it be. I'm constantly moving it around, sucking on it, and squashing it to release flavor. A snus portion's kind of like a lozenge for me  With the lös you have to put it in and leave it alone. I'll poke it a bit with my tongue, and tighten up my lip to try to get more flavor, but it doesn't really release that much for me.

I just started trying out loose a week ago. So far it isn't doing much for me either. I had some General in for over an hour and no taste. I don't seem to get the same good nicotine buzz either. I like the way it makes my gums feel but it is really dry. I am the same way with the portions always poking, moving and chewing on them. Maybe I just got used to the nicotine in the juice I am swallowing. I have tried General, Grov, Diplomat, Gotlands yellow and Kronan so far. Maybe over time the more subtle flavors will be more appealing.

From my experience, it takes a week or maybe two to fully appreciate loose snus. I also nearly settled on portions, but I gave the loose a second try and I am hooked now, though I still also use portions.

So, don't miss to give the loose a second try!

              Just my two cents.

              Cheers!

In my case I just simply couldn't "get enough" out of portions anymore (hard working may have something to do with this) and when I tried loose for the first time I just fell in love with it. IMO the best thing with loose compared to portions is that you can choose excactly how much you need it at time. Loose is more natural choise to me. Nothing wrong with portions, I just don't care for 'em anymore.

I enjoy loose snus a lot. What I often do is to use my tongue to loosen bits of the pris and then I suck on them - this releases the wonderful flavours of loose. You might consider doing the same to enjoy your loose.

In my experience løs tastes a lot more than portions.
ecpesily white portions, that don't taste anything.
And the original portions tastes only salt half of the time.

But tastes are manly created in the brain and are therefore
                    very induvidual.

When I first started using snus, I preferred the loose.

Now I much prefer the pouches because of convenience. Also, I've found that the pouches retain their flavor better than the loose. And I don't have to rinse my gums out after a pouch.

Breaking off small bits seems to work. Thanks

I don't like los very much either, I prefer the portions. Los is more trouble than it's worth for me, and the flavor is even better with portions. There is no mess at all. I'm going with portions only from now on.
