When I first started snusing I had ordered all kinds of sterks and extra sterks, plus a few cans of regular stuff. But the only general types I got were onyx and extra sterk. And I couldn't stand the flavor. This made me think that all "non flavored" or "pure tobacco" snus tasted that way, so I stayed away from it and stuck with the flavored portions like thunder frosted,ice fruit, and skruf tranbar for a long time. But in my last order when I decided to try some los I got some roda lackett los, granit los, ettan los, and 02 strong. I even got one can of general ES to try again. And I like or love all of those, except the general. I practically ate the roda lackett. So it must just be general snus that has that wretched flavor, which to me tastes like citrus sweat and pepper...
BTW even though I don't like it, I named my new black cat General Onyx. Just thought I'd share

General isn't my favorite either, though I don't take my dislike quite as far as you. Do you like any other citrus snus, or do you hate them all?

Im just gonna say that I have been loyal to General and Swedish Match for 5 years.It is what I started with and it is what I will end with.I pretty much love every Swedish Match product.That being said,everybodies tastes are different.If you dont like them thats okay.

General's never clicked with me. I like it /ok/, but it's my least favorite snus in that style. I'll buy it when it's on sale, but not at full price.

I love General: General White, General Sterk, Onyx, all very good snus.

I must have dead taste buds because I have never gotten a citrus taste from General, just pepper and a smoky tobacco flavor.

The citrus is pretty light when compared others in the style, but it's definitely there. It's more like a tang, than a full out flavor.

When I came back to snus from dip, I was really digging the General los and probably would still have it as my #1 if I didn't branch out and try some other snus.

The smoke flavor really bothers me now and if I use General los for an extended period of time, I get a very mild throat irritation (that's probably in my head). I do like it every so often.

You may not be alone but 80% of snus users disagree with both of you. To say it is not, or even more emphatically NOT, a good representation is like saying Levi's are not a good representation of what jeans should be. You may prefer Wranglers or Jordache but the statement is still a little silly.

I too love General, all of them. I always have a General Wintergreen in rotation and rotate between General Portion, White Portion, Sterk, and Onyx (I even like the General Mini Mint).

01, 02, Thunder Frosted, and of course Roda Lacket round out my rotation.

Fair enough, personal tastes are personal tastes, opinions are opinions. I love General and there are plenty of popular things that I hate so I don't like to play the 'more people like it so it's better' card but 'NOT a good representation' seemed like hyperbole.

The few Swedes I've known have been cool people but they are definitely living in a different reality than us. I just enjoy visiting that reality 20 times (portions) a day. :P
