    General portion

Great site everyone. I got a whole bunch of different brands (of portions) a couple of months ago and one of them had the pouches neatly arranged in the tin. I can't remember which one it was. Anyone know the brand(s) that arrange their pouches fanned out, kind of like dominoes? Thanks.

General Onyx did with the black portions and now I understand General will be doing the same with their white portions as well.

    Also welcome aboard!

General Sterk is doing it too. My last tin of it was fanned like Onyx.

As mentioned, Onyx is one. General Sterk as well. Haven't cracked my extra sterk yet but I'm betting that one is too.

General Ekstra Sterk has regular (unorganized) portions.

When I opened my first tin of ES, I was surprised by the fact that the portions weren't fanned, but once I put it in my mouth, my frown was turned upside down..lol

I think the Onyx should be the only one with the portions fanned out, it sets it apart from the others, as does the taste of Onyx. Probably my favorite snus thus far.

Onyx was one of my first ones, and still it ranks as my favorite. I haven't tried exra sterk, but I really don't like the regular sterk.

The ES seems a bit more peppery and the citrus takes a backseat to the tobacco flavor, but that's just me. I love Onyx and the ES, the Sterk is just ho hum for me, but I'm gonna use up what I have left because I'm a cheap..lol

I did finally find a use for my sterk, I am going on a little vacation next weekend where I won't be able to chill my snus, so this seems like the perfect opportunity to use up my gs since I don't really care if it isn't cold or gets a little nasty, being as how it already is lol.

lol, yeah good idea. I keep mine in the fridge when I'm home, but not at work. I keep em in my pocket at all times and I haven't really had an issue about the Gen product drying out, but my Gotlandssnus does tend to dry out a bit when I do this.

Guess it's just different mixes...who knows, but even when they do dry out a bit, I still use them. I just let it sit on my tongue a bit longer before placing it.

Thanks for the replies everyone. The one I had was General Sterk I think. I liked it a lot. I'll be sure to get a few of those as well as a few of the Onyx (haven't tried that one yet). As a former smoker I definitely prefer the higher nicotine content. Skruf Stark and Nick & Johnny's have been other favorites. Any other recommendations would definitely be appreciately. Again, great forum you've got here!

The only portion cans with the fan style so far are white portions like Onyx and Sterk. I know that white portions are produced significantly different from regular portions which could be the reason...

Claq qui is one of my favorite sterk portions, I also like the Skruf Stark white portions. Oden's makes a strong too, haven't tried it, but hear it's good.

Onyx is nothing short of heaven. So good!

Yes, General Sterk (not Ekstra Sterk) is arranged in what I believe they call the "Starburst" arrangement, where all the portions fan out from the middle. Why they chose to put it like that, I have no idea, but it is nifty. I believe one time I also got an American General White Portion that was like that as well, although I never came across another like it since.
